richms: So what was the problem after all that 6 days?

They would not tell me, only that it was maintenance/and or upgrades to the network.

I wonder if it was the same problem my parents had a while ago where it wouldn't get onto the network because of some issue with the account itself - something to with synchronising the account information and some other server but in the end it all was fixed up. Regarding tech support - in an ideal world all call centre should be cross trained to not only deal with mobile issues but also internet connection issues too.

Sometimes the servers will get out of sync. There is a button called, Sync LDAP servers that works magic.
