Linux:
nzfatmatt: Just discovered this, speaking to Vodafone currently as had signed parents up to Mates Prepay and just discovered mothers has disappeared 11 days into plan. I am feeling like I am going in circles talking to them.

@nzfatmatt If you turn phone off and back on does it appear in the App?

Linux

I wish!! Texted from mums phone to check addons, then logged into website. Not there. I am now 50 minutes into a call (on hold about 6 times now) and all they can see is that it was added and it's just disappeared.

So with their carry over for data + calls they appear to cap this at 500 Mins and 3.5 GB Data

Currently with Skinny I've got 2000+ carry over minutes so the VF plan isn't quite as appealing.

Overall pleased to see a move to AU + NZ Minutes and TXTs on prepay, but as I have no VF reception at home it isn't really an option at present.

NonprayingMantis: Oh great. Yet more complicated ways to buy mobile. Why can't they just keep things simple? (That was a retorical question. I know the answer - marketing by confusion)

Pretty much, it's like trying to compare an apple to another apple but it has a little blemish on the side. I suggest sit on hold with Vodafone, you'll have lots of time to try and read things.

My Prepay $29 rolls over tomorrow and I think I would be better on My Flex, but I may have to let it run a month just to fully make sure I do actually want to change. In which case I have a couple of thousand minutes I never use which I may leave my phone on a call to somewhere for a little while!

Skinny still looks better for me anyway...and less complex.

On first glance, this looks almost identical to Mates prepay - I don't get it...

Yes, I also was wondering what the difference between this and Mates were...

Looks like I can get the kind of deal I've been wanting for a while with more data for a similar price to what I pay now ($19 carryover), and I'll be happy to pay a few dollars more for a big increase in data (1.25GB and 150 mins for $23 looks a good deal for me). I have about 1000 minutes carried over at the moment which I'd lose and I'm interested in the justification for taking them away when I've paid for them.

Also, on the website it says you design your plan in the My Vodafone app but since I use Windows Phone the app is not available to me. If anyone has tried yet, can you do all this through the website login too?

In case you had not noticed.

Minutes, data and TXTs in your Vodafone My Flex Prepay plan last for 4 weeks.

52/4 = 13

So you have to be careful when comparing to your monthly plans.

Hmm, the 4 weeks vs monthly thing is bit sneaky. Makes you think you're getting a better deal when in actual fact you are topping up and renewing an extra time each year. Across a year I'm pretty sure I'd spend at least the same, or probably more than one extra renewal by buying more data a few times so still think this would work out better for me. Doesn't make sense why it's not monthly like every other plan though.

Would seem Vodafone has removed the weekend free calling to Vodafone mobiles with the new my flex prepaid and capped carry over .

Decided to change to this last night since my $19 combo was due to renew tonight. Went for 1.25GB and 150 mins for $23, Thought $4 more seemed reasonable for the increase. I usually used up the 500MB in half the month just through sitting on public transport for an hour a day during the week so be interesting to see whether this lasts the whole month. Not that happy about having to lose 900 carryover minutes that I'd paid for but guess they will build up again.
