@antoniosk I asked VF and they advised that the 900+ was available with VF TV. Hmmmm confusing

I'm pretty sure it is now. In the early days of Gigabit multicast wasn't available in conjunction with the Gigabit profile on Chorus.

More stuff to be cleaned up I guess 😊

If Vodafone wants me back I'm willing. MyRepublic finally got my fibre going after 10+ months but I can't get to any devices outside my LAN because of CG-NAT (sound right?) which is really hurting. And the gigabit connection promised is capping out at 350mb/s.

My wife is "hinting" strongly that we should return to Vodafone. She likes the look of the new VF TV but I am nervious as I have flash backs to Fibre X nightmares.

@MikeB4 FibreX is not what it was 18 months ago

I have been on "Fibre X" 200/20 since day one, and have monitored it 24/7 for TrueNet.

Yes, there were very significant teething troubles for the first 6 months - many outages, and poor international performance.

Things have been much better since then - no outages, no peak hour congestion, good international speeds.

"Real world" international speeds are excellent, even via a proxy server in Los Angeles:

Even better, a new "daughter node" cabinet has just been installed in our street (WKH3 in Island Bay).  smile

@Sideface that is very encouraging and looks a lot better. Do you have the TV service?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

FWIW, I've been very pleasantly surprised at the response so far from Vodafone. I've had had quite a bit of back and forth this morning with someone in customer services and someone in sales, they seem to have an idea of what went wrong with the order that left it just sitting like that, have put through a new order, and thrown in a few other things that pleasantly surprised me. As LV Martin said "it's the putting right that counts, obviously things do still go wrong, but it looks like maybe just maybe they are genuinely trying to shake their reputation for terrible customer service. Let's hope it's not just because the CEO saw this post :-)

I have Freeview HD via cable - have never had any problems with it, other than needing an occasional reboot.

Even when I had internet outages, the TV kept working.

Hi Lias,

We definitely want you back! I’m the incoming CEO at Vodafone and you can think of me as your personal account manager from here on in....please email me with some of your details and I’ll get the team onto sorting this asap for you.

Cheers

JP

Nice to see time has given for you to pop into GZ again.

I too was told more or less the same thing approx. 6-8 weeks ago: No FibreMax with existing VF TV (not the POS new one) due to incompatibilities with different billing software. It's almost as if they don't want my money.

Specifically, I was thinking of the combination gig Cable + VFTV. Im not wedded to the new service as it sounds like it has a few 'features', but the telstraclear boxes are starting to hit 8 years old now.
