I just found this a bit amusing and thought I'd share.

So about a month ago I got cold called by Vodafone trying to get me back. They were reasonably persistent and ended up offering me a "I can't really say no to that" deal of $70/month for UFB, no contract, and a $300 credit just to come back and try them again.... I got a confirmation from them on the 23/08, and since then .. nothing..

Seems daft that they go to all that trouble to get me back and then ignore me :-)

Anyone else had anything like that from them?

It appears you received a cold call and a follow up e-mail after that. What more do you want in terms of pursuit? A box of Roses in the mail?

I don't know. A connection perhaps?

Also just to reply to John and UHD, the email didn't appear to require any response, it was a confirmation of offer, that i had 5 days to back out etc,  and explicitly said they'd be in touch to confirm the install date soon. Given it's simply a UFB churn, a month without any further contact after the hard push to get me back just seemed both amusing and daft hence the post.

My wife is "hinting" strongly that we should return to Vodafone. She likes the look of the new VF TV but I am nervious as I have flash backs to Fibre X nightmares.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

My workmate is really happy with his vodafone fibre connection he hasn't lived through FibreX like you or I but always says good things about his connection.

I am not happy with Vodafone's website pushing FibreX as the best option for me as I have true fibre avaialable. So many easy positive steps I think Vodafone could take to make their service top notch again but we will see if they have any new ideas in the near future.

Here is my Quic referral https://account.quic.nz/refer/39513 if you are keen to change ISP and to get free setup (save $29). I will get a $50 credit if you use this.  Thank you very much if you use my link but I'm sure there are quite a few others who could share the same on here, no hard feelings if you use a different link.

Better or worse? tongue-out

I have UFB connected and when I rang VF about getting UFB via them and VF TV the call centre had no idea. The VF web site immediately goes to Fibre X only when I enter my address. My wife is fed up with the "Sky" alternatives but does not want to be a direct Sky customer (don't ask )

I have to agree with her Freeview is a close to empty shop and does not look promising with Choice, HGTV, Prime and TV3 all losing money and TVNZ is just a advert saturated mess. She hates searching Netflix and Prime Video for something to watch usually while still working.

@antoniosk I asked VF and they advised that the 900+ was available with VF TV. Hmmmm confusing
