Hi, we seem to have two issues raised by two different folk here, it seems the OP moschops, was on HFC, and is now on UFB as he mentions MyRepublic used by the previous home owners, and we also have Kaczor47 who states he has no ONT and it appears he is on a HFC FibreX Max connection, so he has not ONT, so there will ben a DOCSIS3.1 HFC modem instead.

As others have said, first confirm your router has a GigE connection on its WAN port, once that is established to not be an issue you can then start looking at the provisioning stance.

Yep - big difference between (real) Fibre and FibreX. Also the speeds noted by moschops line up with a different plan so a provisioning error is feasable.

now if only cable would stop being sold as a fibre product.............................

Amen to that (personal opinion only 😀)

I wonder how many people are actually still on the cable network these days? I know it's a proportion, but I would hazard a guess it's not nearly as much as in its heyday.

UPDATE:

This has now been resolved for me.

I managed to get a Vodafone Ninja to resolve this - I relayed back the comments I got from @quickymart and @clive100 and despite initially telling me that it couldn't be the reason since "an incorrectly provisioned service would just not work" they did follow up with their provisioning team and the following day I got a call back from them and, after going through some troubleshooting to confirm it was not an issue on my side, they later that day called back to say that they had "identified an error on the line" and would be getting it fixed. The following day I got another call, we ran a speed test and boom! 750M down and 375M up.

I was never given an official reason as to what 'the error' was however I assume it was just as this forum suspected. Thank you!

Are they going to give you a partial credit for the time it took them to fix it? I guess not, but can't hurt to ask.
