As a telco do you want to take a gamble and roll the dice on that one? What if you don't do it but your rivals do? Prisoners dilemma.
If it goes that way hopefully the telco's all do support eSIM. Phone services are an important part of the device function, including data, and if an Android solution is more cost effective then I'll go that way.
Even though rare, when getting new phone and wish to move number to new one more messy with eSIM, but if that is only obstacle sure I'd work it out.
I would miss my Apple watch, it is a gen 1 and still goes well. Would still use iPad Pro, so when at home or if hot spot to it still have some of the Apple eco system.
