I was referring to the dock, sorry.

I don't have any intention of going on contract.

Hmm, thats one you might have to kick to Paul or someone similar.. Doesnt seem right to me, unless they're trying to make Vodafone customers feel good for giving money to Vodafone each month?

Hmm I wonder if it unique to my email. When I try to view it it asks me to login (so I created an account) and then it tells me 'Permission Denied'.

Yup - everyone got the email as far as I can work out as I signed up to that form on the first day it was out and again with my other email address yesterday and both email addresses got it and I also get the "Permission denied" error message the same as you guys.

So Vodafone - does it mean only the first 300 that signed up to the form get this deal or does it mean the first 300 that buys it from 12.01am tonight will get it - and how will we know if we are part of that first 300?

I hope we don't find out after paying for it!

The thing I am worried about is these "terms and conditions" that we cannot see! I'm thinking of getting an iPhone and then doing the whole contract cancellation thing mentioned in other threads but for all I know these terms and conditions make this impossible.

Firstly, i'd say the terms and conditions go live when the ordering system goes live, but someone from Vodafone should check into that just in case.

secondly, IIRC, i saw that Vodafone have said they will put an extra charge on those who are going to go on contract and then cancel straight away.. i'll update my post shortly if i find it.

I just rang Vodafone and they said $350 is the only fee I will need to pay and there are no extra hidden charges to go back to your old prepay account (3G S 16GB).
So basically I know i'm sweet and sorted if I ever decide to disconnect early if I ever need to.
I know I will be in the plan for the entire 3GB until September offer though! Make the most of that I say! Then decide if I want to cancel or not.

I hope I get that $100 account credit offer tomorrow!

Hi, I am finding this iphone 3GS plan thing very interesting, and have decided to join geekzone to
share my  thoughts and experience.

I have contacted vodafone Vodafone Queen St 171 Queen Street ( 09 379 0887 ) today in regards to the cancellation process of the iphone $40 plan,
however I was told that it may have been a problem/mistake with vodafone and they may change the
early termination fee to a higher price in the next few days.

Also I asked if I do get a early termination, do I have to pay back the subsidy I received in the first place,
they replied "of course!"

So right now at this stage I am not THAT keen on going through with this process unless vodafone is
more clear about it, as I don't want to pay
$899 for a iphone 3GS,
+ $40 for the plan
+ $350 termination (could be more)
+ $480 subsidy difference

= which is $1769 at the end of the day...
