The ones I've been given are: 203.96.152.4, 203.96.152.12

Wonder what the difference is, location?

Don't worry about the differences, just use 203.97.78.43 and 203.97.78.44 instead.

Okay still just as slow, maybe even slower.

Google takes about 30 seconds to load when it does, if not, it just times out.

Youtube never works properly.

And I can't check my mail at yahoo.com.

They never help with issues, just the "reset router" oh it still not working "maybe wait a couple minutes" usual crap

They don't say reset your router. They say we only support the configuration where the modem is plugged directly into the PC, please do that otherwise we won't help you.

Can you restate your problem, your setup (network setup, cable/ADSL, DNS servers), DNS servers in use, how many PCs you've tried, etc.

Perhaps that's the next step then...

- Take note of all your configuration (TelstraClear IP address, DNS, gateway)
- Unplug router and plug PC directly to modem
- Configure PC network adapter with TelstraClear information
- turn off modem for 15 minutes
- try again

Morning all...

I'm having issues with getting to www.westpac.co.nz for some strange reason that I've yet to get to the bottom of.

Like you guys I'm also having random problems with YouTube. I decided to have a bit of a YouTube session last night and ended up with just the spinning thing and waiting for ages.

So I don't think you're all going mad... there's randomness going on some where.... I thought it was just a problem in my network, but I'm getting less confident that it's my problem.

FM why do you advise turning the modem off for that long?

As I understand it, the modem is just an ethernet bridge(?), what's you're reasoning for turning it off that long? Can you please share your thoughts with us? I'm quite interested in this one.

Yes it's loading subsecond for me in Wellington, so it's not a westpac problem. I'm just giving ppl the heads up that I'm seeing some strange issues as well.

This was explained before, a couple of times. The modem will just pass the MAC address of the device connected. The MAC address is stored in a table at the node, for up to 15 minutes and only one entry is allowed on that table.

The table timeout is something between 10 and 15 minutes.

If you swap a router for a PC, or another device, then the access will not work because the addresses don't match on the table. Leave it alone for 15 minutes to clear the table.

This is no longer the case, and you're able to have up to 10 simultaneous MAC Addresses at any one time.
This has been in place for quite some time now, due to the number of issues customers were having swapping between CPE's.
