gregmcc: kiwigeek1 and johnr you both need to cool off, stolen is maybe not the exact word to use. I guess you could go and make your case over on the vodafone forums, but then there would be a pretty good chance the moderator there (who shall remain nameless) would just remove the post.? Alot of people are quite annoyed with data caps/speed/pricing on both ADSL and mobile, the only way the telco's will listen is for people to say something, you can add me to this list?

Admin and yes I would remove it

How addons and packages work is very clear in the T&Cs for each carrier Vodafone , Telecom , 2Degrees

John

Don't the vodafone forum rules state the valid reasons for admins deleting posts? "...for topics or posts been deleted would be personal abuse, illegal content or abusive/foul language". I don't see so far how any posts by kiwigeek1 would fall outside these rules, Yet you seem to think they do.

This is the main reason why when people who actually have a percived gripe don't even bother visiting the vodafone forums because the admins take a hostile approach and delete the posts rather than actually dealing with the problem.

kiwigeek1: what did stephen fry say while filming in nz?

every nz-er should hit the streets and complain
about the high prices poor data caps and poor
speed and demand the same service rest of
world gets

He said this before without realsing had been shaped to 64kbps due to him using internet provided by a 3rd party that was on a plan clearly unsuitable for his needs.

If you want to complain about broadband as a whole the Commerce Commission should be your first point of call. Remember that DSL access in NZ is a fully regulated product with wholesale pricing set by the Commerce Commission. basic laws of encomonics dictate a company isn't going to sell a product below cost, and you can look forward to DSL costs increasing over the next few years as the Commerce Commission have already set several price increases in place.

NZ has fantastic last mile internet infrastructure, and if you want to dicsuss this issue I'm happy to engage fully with you if you want to create a new thread.

Anyway this has very little at all to do with this topic.

We never delete thread / posts from customers that are having genuine issues and need help, We always deal with these and help customers out where possible but then you get the users that join just to troll and they will be removed,

Hey John was it you who booted my post on the Vodafone site because I had asked the same question last year.
I am quite sincere in asking for an explanation. I am no expert at all when it comes to this stuff. Just a regular guy who pays for broadband and just feels totally ripped off by Vodafone with doubling the data for the last day prior to my new data month.

So please explain one more time in simple language why I cant be billed for the data I use for the day or two prior to my anniversary date.

You seem very defensive. Am I asking too much????

Well John, I have been at the suffering end of your deletions, the particular topic was when the news server was down for weeks and calls to the help desk went un resolved, fault tickets were not put in when faults were logged, so I went to the vodafone forums, where it got noticed by you and deleted by you when I raised the fact and the ticket number and pointed out that nothing had been done for several weeks, and it had infact been ignored.

I can't remember 100% of the story of your posts but there must of been a good reason why,

The news server fault was not ignored, The issue was more complex and it was a hardware related issue along with application issues,

Double posting same subject, I sent the end user a PM advising this along with a link off to the other thread the end user started,

Yet again it was another forum post that was deleted by you without a valid reason.

Most forum admins are quite good, they are fair, they warn people when they are oversteping the boundarys, some (a very few of them) are what is refered to as an "On-line parking warden" - often attract the kind of person who would never otherwise hold a role of any power or importance? Are they the cyber-equivalent of a parking warden -- replete with badges, clipboards and tickets for those who would offend or dare question their authority? (this was taken from the admin of another forum, who I would consider fair)

This is exactly why myself and others don't post questions to the vodafone forums, and why we post here, because here in geekzone you don't have the power to delete the posts.
