Detruire:Kyro: I've been incontact with xNet and have got a refund, I suggest the rest of you do as well.
How much did you get refunded? (Whole bill, or part thereof?)

Yeah Please explain how you got a refund. Can they somehow tell how much data you used onpeak and give you a refund on that?
johndou: if your going to complain, dont ask for credit if you ask me,, ask for refund or partialy not paying the invoice.. when you ask for credit they will tell you that they will give you so many days worth of credit which i am not sure how they going to do that when broadband with them is paid by usage, so how they going to credit you by day, dont ask me.

I don't know what type of payment system your using, but credit is a payment to you on the next bill.
So you will see:
(numbers made up)
Phone = $23.00
Broadband = $40.00
Phone calls = $4.00
Credit = $40.00
Total Due: $27.00
darkknigh152: Does anyone know when Xnet's new international bandwidth will be coming online because if it's not reasonably soon then I'm definitely changing ISP's. 210KBps to LA at 9pm is just pathetic.
You can never have enough Volvos!
Gravy: Phew I'm glad I found this forum.
I was in the process of switching to xnet as I'm sick of ihug. I'm supposed to get a bill emailed to me each month and they can't even manage that but anyway I digress....
I was reading this thread about international speed issues and checked it with my current ISP and turned up some similar results to many who posted here ie about 550 kbs LA and 1900 Auckland. My question is whether it is worth switching? From what I can tell speeds may be similar although I haven't noticed any really slow downloads lately apart from you-tube which has always been fairly slow. How does the speed affect just general surfing and the odd music download on xnet?
Is it worth changing based on the no start up fee thing hoping that speed improves and service will be better? It looks like it will be cheaper and my machine can't do online gaming. I don't want to have to face reconnection fees with another ISP if it turns out to be rubbish.
any opinions.

Niel: The couple of times I've seen extra bandwidth kick in at the start of the month. If you check my previous post, I do have a theory why it is taking so long to sort out. Basically I think once they get more bandwidth they first have to see how much actually gets used when it is not throttled and review it for the next month. They probably can not simply purchase double the bandwidth and not use it. It is also not just a switch to get more bandwidth, they probably have to purchase it a month in advance.
(I wish we can complain about inefficient road design in the same way we can complain about broadband.)
