You probably won't get much more feedback that way and should read through the entire thread if you haven't already, but I will say that I absolutely love my cable connection. I haven't had the slightest issue with it after having it installed for almost a month now. I get the full advertised 130/10 Mbps speeds, and it blows any ADSL/VDSL offerings right out of the water. Outside of some 200 Mbps trials in selected areas, even UFB doesn't meet Vodafone's DOCSIS cable downstream speeds. If a cable connection is available to you and you don't expect UFB anytime soon, I can definitely recommend the cable.

I've got cable already, 130/10 100gb per month. I always worry about traffic shaping, especially after Telecoms shaping a few years ago.

The call centre hasn't helped, seems no one knows what shaping they do, or how much they will slow it by.

P2P this must of been advised soooo many times and it depends on the traffic load at the time to how it's shaped as it's not static

I understand about P2P being slowed, I've noticed it on my current plan too (not that I P2P much at all)

I've got a concern if the unlimited plan doesn't work out because of the shaping, I can't go back to the plan I'm on now - so essentially I’d be stuck on on it....

There has been no changes to how our network handles traffic. You wont have any issues. Chorus network will congest before ours..

Also if you are speaking about the Grandfathered plans etc. We dont have pools etc its all over the same gear.

I have a hard time believing this. Ever since I've switched to unlimited my average speed has gone down from 45mb to 22mb.

That's not related to unlimited. Can you make a sperate topic for slow speed and include modem stats and speed tests over Ethernet to local servers

Is it possible for me to switch to unlimited ADSL now then switch to VDSL with no extra (apart from the difference in price between ADSL and VDSL)? I am what I think is refereed to as a Telstra ADSL stacked customer, I may be completly off there, I sign in through telestraclear.co.nz for my account and there is nothing there about changing plans

Switch from Telstra stack to Vodafone through sales and see if they can do no VDSL modem charge etc. But yes do it ASAP

Not in this case, changing from a very very old plan (30gb Broadband 6)
2 Phone lines in the house, vodafone on 2nd line, extension is only to the one jackpoint in the computer room.

swapping to new plan and moving it over to line 1 then I guess we will need Chorus to come and wire the pc room jackpoint into Line one. While running a temp extension cable from computer room to one of bedroom jackpoints.

Then canceling the 2nd line.

Will we need a mastersplitter in the roof to feed the previous jackpoint in the PC room?

Sounds like a mess there.
To change to unlimited it is done through our end so your plan can be updated. If you want to change where it is wired in the house get an electrician or Coffeebaron to switch the pairs in the ETP then it will just run over the other loop. Or you can speak with us and do a relocation. Reason why is its changing your port and connected line.

I called to upgrade my account to unlimited on the 4th, I'm on Warpspeed 150 and they said it would tick over next billing cycle for me this was today, and it's still on the old plan. Now I called and they're saying next billing cylce. Another month seems like a long time to wait.

I also looked into doing it on the website, but I have some super-old TelstraClear login and when I go to manage plan it sends me to clear.net.nz and offers me a 10 hour plan!.

You will get rebiiled with the new price or plan from when it was changed. If changed part way through the month it will reverse the rest and rebill next month.

Could someone point me to the location on the Vodafone website which lists the cost for additional data if you go over your cap on the 80GB Naked Cable plan?
