Hi all

Our unlimited broadband plans are here. Available as Naked VDSL, VDSL with phoneNaked ADSL and ADSL with phone, and of course naked fibre, fibre with phone, and naked cable and cable with phone. Lots of options.

Enjoy! :)

Yes, 30Mbps naked fibre, with the $30 discount for mobile OnAccount combo, is $79, as I read the site.

Great. Unfortunately only signed up to the previous 500gb plan a few days ago. Still actually waiting on the install and activation. Not impressed we are not even connected and already plan has been superseded.

Traffic management applies and you must have a vf on account mobile. Not really naked broadband if they tie it in to a phone.

Yep - there's a tick box underneath the plans marked "upgrade your speed" which will show the 100mbps price. 100mbps for $30 more on UFB Fibre.

You'll be automagically upgraded.

Does traffic management apply to cable offers? And if so is there a summary of what is the traffic management?

Also, where are the prices without term contract?

You don't *have* to have an On Account mobile with us, but if you do and it's linked to your home broadband account you get the $30 broadband discount. Seeing as the On Account mobile plans start at $29 a month that seems pretty sweet. The mobile can be a work one if that's what you use.

So i signed up to the 500GB plan around a week ago, awaiting install from chours. Does this mean i will also be upgraded to the unlimited plan automatically?

If so i dont want to be on a traffic managed plan that's not what i signed up for....

Also on top of the request to know what's the traffic management, it would be good if Vodafone could assure us that:

  • It's not as screwed up as the proxy server on cable
  • They have alarms at NOC to let them know when things go wrong (because currently we have to cry out for days before things are noticed)
Other than this, good move!

Cool by me.  I happened to be on the phone to the call centre to chase up the install, and they indicated that all "Entertain" package customers will be automatically upgraded.

Unlimited Broadband - Terms Terms and Conditions

  • Unlimited broadband is to be used for standard residential use only and is not to be used for commercial types of activity or purposes.

  • Non-residential, commercial purposes will include (but is not limited to) selling bandwidth to third parties or running an Internet Service Provider.

  • Traffic Management: To ensure we can offer a consistent broadband experience for all our customers, a traffic management policy may apply to Peer to Peer (P2P) usage during peak periods. P2P is primarily used by a small number of broadband users.

  • We are not anti-P2P however if our network is congested, rather than impact all customers, P2P-type traffic will be the first to be de-prioritised (slowed). We will always prioritise the more mainstream traffic types (such as video, web and gaming traffic) over P2P as this will have the greatest benefit for the majority of customers.

  • If you are a customer who uses P2P a lot, then we ask that you try to keep your usage to our off-peak (10pm – 6am) when there is the most capacity available.

Traffic management has not changed on this new plan from what it always was. Its just more clearly stating the oblivious as people are 100% more likely to "abuse".
