Demeter:
dickytim: No pre-order for Iphone6+ on Vodafone?

Watch this space :)

There it goes!  I see that the 6+ is now up. I didn't see it on Friday - but it was up on Saturday morning.

No word yet on release day sales yet.

It was definitely up on Friday because I placed an order for a 128Gb 6+ in Space Grey.

Quite like the gold colour but not the white front it has.

I was amused to realise my phone will now have twice as much storage capacity as my Macbook Air...!

A moot point since you can only buy on the Red plan, which I am already on. I put my preorder with Spark on the $39 open plan before they closed the loop hole.

dejadeadnz: Barring somehow Spark rejecting my order/signup for the $69 a month plan, I will (finally) be leaving Vodafone after being a mobile customer for 15 years. What swung me over mainly revolved around Vodafone's refusal to allow customers with low to medium levels of usage/mobile data requirements to sign contracts from the outset to get the IP6 early. The plans available for pre-order simply don't work for me costs wise and in terms of how much I need. To stay with VF, I would need to stay on my $39 plan with a bonus 500 mb of data (totally 1.75 gigs a month) with 300 minutes to Aus/NZ (the ability to call Australia is meaningless to me) and pay full price to get my phone from Apple at the early stages.

I hear ya dejadeadnz

It really chaps my arse that the provider I have been with for almost the past decade still tries to make an extra buck off of me by forcing me to upgrade to a plan that has features/services that I do not currently consume, or want or need, for double the price of my existing iPhone 5 plan. Customer loyalty counts for nothing with these corporate types, who delight in actively punishing early adopters, it's that same bullsh!t every time. Am I really gonna have to go back to TelecomNZ, (Spark... ha, you are not fooling anyone with that name change), to get a plan that is right for my profile...?

Or should I just buy direct from Apple and use my existing SIM...?

last year those who ordered from Apple got their phones 3 days earlier than telcos selling them on prepay.

this year it will probably be the same. except that if telcos get too much business they will wait longer before allowing prepay

I was walking past the Q Street branch of Vodafone Auckland last night and I saw that they had a banner on there saying that Iphone 6 and 6 plus available for purchase from Friday 26th Sept at 12.01am. This could mean they are doing a midnight launch.

Also walked past the Spark store and saw their 'Emoji line'. They seem to be taking the fun out of lining up for new shiny gadgets!!

Hmmm... interesting to see that Vodafone changed the price of the device. Few days ago, during the pre-order it was $149 for device for 64GB iPhone 6+ on Red+ ($129 plan).

Today, it is $300 for the device, and $129 Red+ plan for 64GB iPhone 6+.
