Hi guys,

We're happy to announce that you will be able to pre-order the iPhone 6 at Vodafone from 6am this Friday, 19th September.

Sorry, I really have nothing more in the way of pricing etc, this is all I have for you right now. :)

Do you know when we might get more info in terms of eligibility (new 24-month contracts only?)? It's only ~35 hours away so would hope the info is forthcoming some time tomorrow..

(someone needs his beauty sleep and doesn't want to wake up unnecessarily at 6am).

Oh come on now, where's the dedication? ;-) I will certainly ask around today, but I'll be honest upfront and say that I'll be really surprised if I'll be allowed to say anything before the Big Day.

That's a fine offer indeed. :P If however, you are not totally bereft of your senses and willing to wait a wee while to get an iPhone 6 from Vodafone at a more reasonable rate I reckon we'll probably at least throw in a bacon butty or sausage sizzle on release day. Who doesn't like a bit of free sausage? With sauce!

What are the chances that the phone will be available off contract? I wouldnt wanna be tied down to a 2 year contract..

I would have to agree with JohnR - historically, pre-orders were exclusive to customers signing up to a term contract. It is extremely unlikely that we will be retailing the iPhone 6 for outright purchase right off the bat.

I have a few questions about Vodafone's 24 month term contracts

I assume the iPhone 6 will require a 24 month term for the early pre-orders. I do some travelling for my job and sometimes I need to stay in other countries for extended periods of time.

If I order the iPhone 6 on a 24 month term, is it possible to swap out the SIM card in the phone for another country's local SIM card so I can use the local sim card with the iPhone?

Also, is it possible to transfer the contract term to another number?

I say this as next year, I'm gonna be staying in Japan for an extended period of time and I am required to use a local Japanese SIM card to contact my colleagues there. So would this be possible? Apologies if these are obvious questions, I've never signed up for any 24 month contracts before.

EDIT: Just forgot to say, I ask if it is possible to transfer the contract term to another number because I'll be in Japan next year, and so there would be 12 months remaining on the term if I sign up now. So I'd prefer to transfer the term over to a family member since they'll remain in the NZ for the duration of the term, while I'll be overseas not using my NZ number.
