Is it only people on FS/FS plans that are being affected?

Good to hear it should be sorted. Did you identify the cause? Your new network, Telecom Wholesale, or maybe you cannot say?

No the issue was with us, it was in our new piece of network kit applying some strange policing / policy action randomly, it looks to be a bug we worked with the vendor to identify and fix it, so hopefully all should be ggod now

still not fixed. downloads drop to around 2m and after modem reset returns to about 6.5m. ping remains about 55 and the upload remains reasonably constant at +700k. (I have FS/FS) It seems a change of IP address fixes it for some hours.....the only other observation is Voip calls seem unaffected and the usage meter has a flat week from the 12th to the 19th November.
cheers George

Just reset my modem/router as it was at 260kbps. Problem still lives on.

Thanks for the feedback, we believe the problem was fixed but will now re investigate, if it is the same issue I don't think it is as prevelant as it was.

I've been having the same issue.

This isn't some conspiracy to stop overnight downloading is it?...

One would hope not, especially with this sort of talk going on.

for me the problem has changed somewhat. Now it is mainly an upload problem. Where my upload was normally around 750k
it is now around 450k , slower ping times...up from mid 50s to around 80 and slower overall response times and no amount of restarts etc will change it.
Last night though when the usage meter/site problem was fixed everything flew along as what  used to be normal.
It did not last though. This points to some type of performance management being put in place.
A question for Phil....what is going on?

absoultly not , we would prefer you to download over night as it's actually a more efficent use of bandwidth for everyone, there has been an issue identified recently that did effect sme users with a rate shaping type symptons, we believed we addressed and resolved these, we are now going to re look into it,

Of course you did log a issue with the help desk on this Wink ?
