tims: I'm not sure I fully understand Naked DSL so a couple of questions - can I continue to use my broadband modem (dynalink RTA1320) and phone filter with NDSL? If not, is the correct equipment supplied by Xnet or do I have to buy it?
tims: are the VFX services (Voicemail- Voicemail to Email- Call Forwarding Options- Call Waiting etc) free or do these cost extra?

Lorenceo: Can't wait till its available!
FS/FS 30GB here I come!
grant_k: You don't LOSE 1 telephone line...
- The physical line is still there carrying your ADSL
- The Voice service on the line (previously carried by POTS) gets replaced by VFX
For all intents and purposes, you still have the same services: ADSL and a phone service. Except the phone service is now digital instead of analogue and comes with all sorts of extra goodies like Caller ID, Free Voice Mail, etc, etc...
grant_k: From the above, I take it that you are currently paying $41 per month to Telecom for your line rental?
jesseycy: (e) Ihug "Plan 0", nominating my Vodafone mobile. With this, I can route all incoming calls on VFX onto my mobile... unlimited!
...
But yeah... My point is.... There are people like me, who do value not just the "good speeds", but will also consider the price aspect, providing that speed is not too bad (2Mbps is quite enough for normal use!), and a "second line" is always useful too! Xnet Fusion is great pricing for the speeds that it offers! But why not some flexibility too for other users?
Xnet: In a nutshell, between the cost of access, bandwidth, call termination and Maverick's insistance that the company actually make enough money to pay his salary so he can buy his beautiful wife a new pair of shoes every year, we are doing our best to make the product affordable and to give you value for money.
Xnet:
To the five cent rounding bit. VFX calls are rated in one minute increments at five cents per minute. One minute increments is the general NZ industry standard. That mean that if you are on the phone for one minute or less, the call will be charged at five cents. If you are on the call for one minuite and 10 seconds, the cost will be .10 cents. So the dollars are not being rounds at all.
dazzap: One thing that seems to be missing with VFX is capped calling like we already have for our WxC non-code tolls (no VFX at present - too costly). We pay $19.95/mth for 1000 mins to most civilised places in the world excl mobiles. This is a reasonable deal.
I think VFX needs this plan too. Or have I missed something. Otherwise I'll just end up paying the same amount as before - about $110-120/mth all up.
