Just a note. Jason has not been on the forums in a number of months now (also FYI @Linux).

Also do not send account details to anyone without a "Vodafone NZ" industry tag. Geekzone is not an official means of support for any ISP and it is important that you log a fault via their normal customer service before anything else.

I think @MaxineN is the current superstar who may be able to help out.

I have been experiencing the exact same issue with home HFC Max Connection for the last 4 - 5 weeks. Out of nowhere on random times the internet drops out. Every time a cable modem get it up and running immediately. Multiple calls/chat with Vodafone support , multiple modem resets, replaced new modem, Downer Technician visit, this issue isn't resolved.

Believe me, they have been amazing trying to help. But I still have on average 3 cable modem restarts a day to get the Internet back on.

I have decided to go with Fiber (Fiber Max). But it looks like I will have to wait few weeks get it going. I am one of those permanently working from home. Some days my work is impossible as I work on multiple clients/cross platforms. Each disconnection could knock me 20-30 minutes off work and it’s an absolute nightmare when I am on-call (sorry about the rant)

@Wigster and @JasonParis, looks like you've been awesome helping with the issue. Can you please, please help me? Please let me know what info you need.

I've been on the HFC network for years here in Stokes Valley and never misses a beat amazing how vfone are talking about upgrading to Docsis 4.0.

It's been 53 hours since the new firmware deployment to the modem and not a single outage. So look like the issue is resolved. Thanks all for reaching out to assist.

Hi there,

I've been having exactly the same issue in Wellington. We had a tech from Downer out a while ago who replaced a lot of cable and gave us a new HFC modem. For a little while, that seemed to stop the problem. But it started again and I just didn't have the time to chase it down. However, in the past few days, it's got to the point where it's been dropping up to 20 times a day which makes WFH very tricky!

If @Wigster or @MaxineN would be able to help, I'd be very grateful!
