I suppose that I had better start planning to change my cellphone number now as any change to this company generally sees one or more of its product offerings disappear.  Like the T-Box, Paradise email (I am still finding this email address buried in an odd accounts on the net), Voda TV, what will be next, I'm guessing my cellphone service in the interests of efficiency. /sarc

PolicyGuy:

It seems to me that "One New Zealand" ought to be the brand of some vaguely sinister right-wing political party.
But maybe that's just me
LOL

It was!

The One New Zealand Party was a small political party in New Zealand. It was partly modeled on the Australian One Nation party, founded by Pauline Hanson. Its primary focus was on matters such as the Treaty of Waitangi, but its wider platform was broadly paleoconservative or producerist. It strongly opposed the policies of the government at the time, accusing it of giving special privileges to Māori and of undermining the concept of "one law for all". It claims that the policies amount to a form of apartheid.

One is a stupid name and a stupid logo. I hope they didn't pay too much to a branding company to come up with this.

"Ok get this - ONE. And One is spelled with an O. Like a circle. So the logo is a circle!!"

"Well done, time for beersies!"

Hopefully when you call their contact centre you won't feel like you're going around in circles 😕

I don't understand why folks get worked up over a private company rebranding and spending money on the rebranding,

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I wasn't referring to you. I had been reading comments sections in media.

One example from social media "I might change my phone provider for the first time since 2004 because this rebranding is awful."

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

@Journeyman I apologise for any inference. The time stamp between your post and mine is approximately 3 minutes I had not seen your post when I posted. Due to disability I type one handed and make make many typos that i have to correct. I had started my post quite some time before the time stamp on your post. Again it was not directed at you.

I see Vodafone customer service still terrible so hope a miracle occurs with One NZ.  I have just now tried online chat and on phone to try to ascertain why my current Go Extra Large Plan and companions don’t include the 250 free International Minutes and 50 texts but no one able to understand the spoken or written word well enough to offer any support or advice.  They suggest I look at my invoice and other helpful suggestions.  😖.

Or the ones who say "I could've made that logo in 10 minutes in Photoshop!".

Sure you could've, but did you see the brand strategy behind it, the many iterations, the copyright checks etc.?

Vodafone One Business to become One One Business?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

sdavisnz: Also I feel I one is a silly name, not descriptive at all.

Heard the exact same argument when Telecom rebranded into Spark...

I still think Spark sounds silly. We're just not allowed to make fun of it here. I always ask the scammers if they are on fire.

I am surprised they have used such a generic word as One, because there seem to be quite a few businesses that trade under One as part of their name in the technology market. Even with a circle the of logo. A circle is the obvious logo when a company uses One as the main part of their name. Also using One and NZ together is very generic and does sound like a political party.

Or a TV channel!

Edited to add: After saying that, I Googled it just to see what would come up. The first two hits were both TV1 News.
