xpd: Post from my blog back in Feb...
"Bit (wife) made a comment today that someone told her that they wouldnt use 2Degrees mobile because theyre installing cell towers.
How do you think your current Vodafone/Telecom mobile works ?
OK, so some of the sites that 2D have chosen for cell towers could have been discussed with the locals first but noone seemed to bitch when Vodafone/Telecom put theirs up...
Until someone can prove 100% that cell towers can have adverse affects to the human body/mind, then towers will continue to be put into place regardless of who owns them and what the common rate payer says.."

[Edit]
also, when I was in Dubai I noticed these slightly odd looking palm trees on the palm island. turns out they are cell towers. pretty cool huh

You can state the 'Not In My Neighbourhood' phrase till you're blue in the face. Either way anybody who owns a home doesn't want one of these things near them.
I did not start this thread for you to start a personal attack.
Regardless of wether it improves reception quality. The issue here isn't that it's there, the issue is mainly it is NOTICEABLE. There are mocked up photos of this site in the proposal and it stands out like a sore thumb.

I have on my desk two letters to the editor from a small town in New Zealand.
The first demands to know why phone companies insist on putting up towers, why they're allowed and how dare they and listing 100 names of people opposed to this tower going up.
Next to it is a letter demanding to know why there's no cellphone coverage at the local school, don't cellphone companies care about their customers, how dare they not listen and listing 100 names of people demanding better coverage.

I have no problem with them. I would gladly rent the back yard for a site if it meant I got some $$$ from them and great coverage.
