Yeah I noticed this, I upgraded from the version 4 to the 4S and the 4S has much better WiFi and 3G service.

Looking forward to getting my 'free upgrade' for our Sure Signal, we got the same email about it.

Out of interest do any the people who are getting a free upgrade have the 'current model' of the sure signal (http://www.vodafone.co.nz/services/femtocell/) or the original $99 version?

It will be the original Sure Signal

Does that mean there may be a price drop on the new sure signal then? If not, does anyone want to get rid of their old one?

The old ones will be knocked off the network I suspect once they are all swaped out

I'll hold out for a price-drop then...

I had purchased 2 Sure Signal boxes - one via the Vodafone website. I have not received any email about getting upgrades for these units. Does anyone know if I am stuck with the old model?

I purchased 2 units 2 (well actually I purchased 1 and my wife purchased the other (using different email addresses)

and we got an email saying one is being upgraded and nothing about the other. why would this be? I emailed vodafone but they just said I may not be getting an upgrade but could not tell me for sure

Johnr - can you shed any light on who will/will not be getting upgrades and what the reason behind it is? Are there some of the older units are that are more reliable than others, etc?

I received my "Free Upgrade" sure signal this morning, this device has a much smaller form factor to our original device and seems to work well...

But its cooking up.  I can smell the hot plastic smell all throughout my home after having it powered for some 6 hours, and its really too hot to touch.

Out comes my laser thermometer and WOW! 68 degrees C on the silver strip at the front!  Is that normal?
We have two Iphones in our home that are running off of it with almost no handset use today at all as its Christmas eve (no calls, no 3g internet surfing).
