loganjames: Wow I was hoping I wouldn't regret my switch to snap.

I don't.

Are you already with Snap? ?Is the speed good?

I'm going to pay $15 more a month (paying VF $100 for so-called Ultimate Pack for 80Gb/M) to get 255G data a month plus landline.

I simply regretted having wasted another month

I moved to a new neighbourhood at the same time and the wiring in my new place is a mess so it would be unfair to compare the two. But I also have a friend a few doors down from my old place on snap and he was getting the same speeds I was getting on vodafone if that helps? ~11Mbps down

Thanks for that; I think if it's doing similar to VF speed then I'm happy.

In the end of the day, for me it is simply filling in the gap before I could sign up for the high-speed cable network which Enable is mapping out in Christchurch at the moment.

zhuyan: I just rang VF to ask for procedures for switching to other ISPs and they transferred me to their Customer Retention Team.

As a result of that discussion, they are still unable to match Telecom's 120G plan as I was advised they only have 80GB (maximum data pack) or 160GB (after double up) blocks.

I explained that all I wanted is more data and am not very happy with only 20Gb increase lately; I did get some offer of option however it is still not what I'm after. So I thanked the representative and said good bye.

At least I tried hard to stay with VF.

I'm ringing Snap now.

I am just awaiting a call from VF retentions to see what they can offer, I maybe giving Snap a call also after looking at their offering.

I aim to misbehave.

Very poor IMO. Can't really see any of this supposedly "great value".

Feel sorry for John R + others who I expect will cop a lot of flak, when really it's the VF marketing dept that needs a good kick up the pants.

I just signed up to Snap!, chose the naked broadband package with 260 gb and unmetered YouTube access for $105/mo, which is $20 cheaper than the 60gb+double data naked broadband package with Vodafone. The TrueNet broadband data on page load times was a concern, but overshadowed by the data cap and the option of VDSL. To Vodafone's credit, their telephone reps were helpful, and I doubt Vodafone will miss my business very much, as I don't have a mobile or landline through them.

Which I have been saying all along, this has to be the worst product launch/improvement from a telco company for at least the last 10 years. It make Telecom's all you can eat fiasco almost perfect as at least that was value for money.

I aim to misbehave.

Do you think this glut of new customers will affect Snap's service?  I might give it another month before switching to make sure they have enough international bandwidth & if I ever need to call them, I won't be on hold for an hour.

Maybe this Forum should be renamed to 'who did you leave Vodafone for?'.

Naked customers.

I just got off the phone with the retention team and have been offered naked ultimate 120gb for $65 per month. I have an on account mobile with them, and I live in the red zone. I'm happy with that offer.

effectively I've doubled data for $10 per month. Was paying $55 per month previously.

Does this mean you can still double the data to 240gb or at least 180gb?

Ruphus: Just spoke with VF sales/retention. I'm happy with the offer that they gave me so I'm sticking with VF.

Care to share the offer?  All they said for me was "let us know if you what you decide"

They've doubled my data for free and they are moving me onto their new mega pack for $95.

I got offered - Stay on Ultimate + Double free data and $95 as long as I sighed a 12 month contract, then back to 80GB after the 12 months. I guess they really want to lose market share.

It think you are missing the point that Vodafone has good growth and is not targeting the heavy downloaders. The changes (or lack of) won't suit everyone, but they would suit the majority of users.

You also need to understand that GZ users not typical users of data. My Father in law has all his needs met for 5GB a month. We switched him to a 20GB Plan with VF and now he has 40GB he still uses only 6GB a month average.

I didn't ask that question. However I was told that the change was made at their end and is automatic, So I don't need to manually double data through the website.

For me, 120gb for $65 per month plus the free my sky upgrade works out to be a good deal for my usage
