The speed on my Samsung S6 Edge using the 5G ac connection from the other end of my house, 3 rooms from my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router on my 200/20 connection

I would first like to say a massive thanks to @michaeln for helping to sort out the errors in the serviceability address checker and for arranging a callback for me. Without his help I could not order FibreX at all. All addresses in Wellington that are capable should now be correct.

A CSR called and was very helpful. I got a $10/month discount on top of the $10 Mobile on account discount so the $79.99/mo price tag for Naked 200/20 FibreX became $59.99/mo for 24 months. In addition I got the first 6 months half price.

I'm pretty stoked with that.

Now if Downers come through with the install Tuesday I'll be a happy guy.

I also mentioned that some people got disconnected early last weekend. Apparently the disconnection of pending upgrades was a process glitch that has been fixed - so that's great news for everyone.

Once again thanks to @michaeln because without your help I would be still pulling my hair out.

First up this morning so no waiting around. Should be getting $100 as they didn't do it in time, ordered last Friday with earliest install of Thursday. The installer today had started doing FibreX upgrades yesterday and had 10 to do today. The longest bit of the install was him sitting sitting on hold.

Seem to have a static IP (FREE, waiting on next bill to confirm though), after a modem reboot it stayed the same. thought I’d killed my connection but ended up needing to reboot router.

Is anyone who has been upgraded able to indicate upload speed for any of the following:

- Dropbox

- Backblaze

- Crashplan

What sort of download speeds from Steam?

For Crashplan looking at the network up speed, the US still sucks getting 4ish Mbps. Australia is a bit better but not much. getting 12-16 megabit or 1.5-2 megabytes a second. Just gave it a bunch of large videos to upload.

Restore from Au is getting around 200 megabit or 25 megabyte a second down.

I seem to have a problem with upload speed, it seems to max out usually around 5mb but can get it upto 10mb sometimes (should be 20)

I tested using the supplied Huawei router and changed over to a Fritzbox and getting the same result

We got this thing in the shape of a triangle in the mail from Vodafone, One if the things it said was that we can check we're still on the best plan using My Vodafone but we can't use that because we have cable.. Tut tut

sounds like you are loosing connectivity, the downtime involved will be waiting on a new DHCP lease.

Yeah, I'm having lots of problems :( (FibreX Max)
- Outages of 10-15 minutes

- Speedtests of ~2mbps

- never getting speedtests above 4-500mbps down and 60mbps up

- speedtest is usually only 130-160mbps, I'd be luck to get over 200mbps

Have tried different PCs, different routers, different Ethernet cables, rebooting cable modem, etc.
Speedtest mini on my NAS and testing from my PC gives me 800mbps so I know my gear is OK.
I'm dreading the call to Vodafone :(

MTU settings. I have not seen any documentation of what the MTU value should be set to. I know VF cable is 1500 and UFB is 1480. But does 1500 still apply to the new Gigabit connection?

Two remote reboots in 2 days (possibly more when I'm not looking) - IP changes - takes several minutes - irritating

The new Technicolor modem takes much longer to reboot than the old Cisco modem.

No speed issues.

Using the HG659 - getting full 200/20Mbps line speeds over ethernet and wireless ac.

Same ethernet speeds with an EdgeRouter Lite.

Think I fixed it, there is a bit in the fritzbox where you set the speed for network priority so have bumped that up

I feel a bit stink about VF 'FibreX' plan because I signed up to Bigpipe only a week before this new plan became available.

However I was very happy about the cancellation process with Vodafone as I did not have to give 30 days notice of cancellation. The cancellation happened within 24 hours as it was right up to day before my billing cycle.

I might change back to VF later once all the performance issues have been resolved. Since BigPipe have open term contracts I can cancel at any time.

Also a note for anybody who cancels there VF cable connection, you have to return the CISCO modem/router/gateway appliance with the 12V power brick AND the yellow Ethernet cable provided.

Just checking out Vodafone page about FibreX, can somebody explain why it say 'Up to 200Mbps download speed' but in the 'Important things to know' section it states:

"Gigabit network speed capability exceeds user speed capability. Actual user speeds will vary and are affected by various factors including how you’re connected to the internet (using a Gigabit Ethernet cable is better than WiFi, which could have a large impact on speed), the hardware and software used, number of devices connected, time of day, and where the data is downloaded from. In really good conditions, we expect you’ll get download speeds of up to 700-900 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 90-95 Mbps"

Why is there a difference in expected speed?
