mattwnz:johnr: Why not just go for the 2GB prepay offer on Supa Prepay then
Thanks, I can't actually see that plan. The closest in supa prepay I can see is a broadband surfer 512MB plan for $30 per month, or broadband lite for $10. Do you have a URL?
BraaiGuy: Quick question. My wife is also on this $19 plan, she has been using it for about 2months now. It renewed successfully a few days ago.
The vofafone android app says: 29minutes, about 1998 texts and 490MB of data left for the month.
But when she tries to make a call its telling her that she does not have enough credit available to make the call. Its a standard call to my own vodafone number.
Any idea? She has $0 credit in the account but I would have thought their would not need to be any until the next plan rollover.
Cheers
Klipspringer: Interesting text just arrived from Vodafone:
Great news! From 01/07/13 your Smart19Data gives you UNLIMITED TXTs to standard NZ mobiles & your casual TXT rate will be 20c/TXT. Info vodafone.co.nz/ppsmart

Yes, I also received that TXT. I'm not sure what's great about my current casual TXT going from 12 cents/ TXT to 20 cents/ TXT
For this reason, I have now put a 2degrees SIM in the second spot of my duel SIM phone. In all probability I will not be renewing my prepay with Vodafone when it runs out - I'll just go with 2degrees instead.
Additionally, Vodafone were charging my wife $1 data charge even thought she doesn't use data intentionally (TXT messages are enough of a challenge for her!) I checked that everything data related was off (Nokia S60) but she was still getting charged $1.00, for as little as 7KB of data /day. I removed all the APN settings from her phone - that stopped it, it also stops her from using any data by choice - but no matter in her case.
2Degrees just looks more and more attractive from our perspective.

I seem to recall that the first few MB's of data were to be charged at the old rates (until that data usuage hits $1)? Further investigation lead me to this post by PaulBrislen back in 2008. As far as I was aware this has never changed? Maybe JohnR can confirm? It seems very silly for somebody to be charged $1 for 7K of data.
Data rollover will be good.
