Their website has now been updated to Vodafone branding.

Most of the stuff on telstraclear.co.nz is targeted at existing customers. I see they provide links to Vodafone.co.nz for new customers, where they now include 'InHome cable broadband' in with their existing internet offerings.

Looking at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/internet/high-speed-cable-network/broadband-tv-bundles/, it wasn't easy for me to tell if they'd put the prices down or not, since my bill contains extra decoders and sky channels etc, so normally costs quite a bit more than the base bundle costs.

Adding up the core components from my previous bill: line rental (39.94) + digital tv (50.95) + 60GB internet (45.95), and subtracting the triple service discount (13.74), it added up to $123.10. The new page on the Vodafone web page lists this bundle as $123.11, so it looks like they haven't changed the prices yet (for new or existing customers).

Regardless of the fact that my existing contract is 24 months, it was signed with a now defunct company and you'd have thought VF would be keen to make migrated customers feel that the changes were beneficial.

Yes, I have actually called and spoken to someone hence my displeasure at being told that I couldn't change to new structure until contract is up for renewal

I disagree here. The company is not "defunct". All assets and contracts were transferred to a new owner, which will continue to provide the services as established by the contracts.

On the other hand for people who aren't on a contract...

I actually fail to see why you're so angry. You're in a term contract, the fact it's been purchased is a moot point. ISP's and telcos change pricing all the time and don't change pricing for those in contracts.

If you have a mortgage on a fixed rate do you expect your bank to change your rate if a new fixed rate becomes available?

I'm not "so angry" but I just feel like the new company could have shared the love a bit rather than alienating the TCL customers from the get go.

The contracts thing is fair enough and I agree that if I wasn't affected I'd have probably felt the same, just a little disappointed I guess.

After calling 0508662277 and speaking briefly to a kiwi, I was transferred to an asian call centre where they tried to switch me to the old TelstraClear Lightspeed 60G plan for $75.95. Eventually I managed to direct them to http://www.vodafone.co.nz/internet/naked-bb/ then I got transferred to a third person who new exactly what to do.
Next billing period I will now have 60GB instead of 20GB for the same price ($55.95/month). (I wasn't on contract BTW)
