Vodafone will be phasing out the TC brand within a month or two. I was wondering if GZ will either close this forum, merge it with the VF forum or do something else? Cheers.

April 1 seems like a good day to start the campaign for that value.... :)

I agree.... we should be getting 500Gb for our $100 just as the Australians are getting.

This is the aforementioned article:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/8371860/Vodafone-to-ditch-TelstraClear-branding

Vodafone will axe the TelstraClear brand next month, or by May at the latest.

Vodafone bought TelstraClear from Australia's Telstra for $840 million in November and chief executive Russell Stanners said it had made good progress merging the two businesses.

The change will spell an end to TelstraClear advertisements and its former customers, including its 80,000 cable broadband customers in Wellington and Christchurch, will see Vodafone's red logo on their bills.

"TelstraClear will completely disappear," Stanners said.

However, he said Vodafone might continue to market both Vodafone and TelstraClear's current fixed-line broadband plans to new customers for a few months longer, under the Vodafone brand, and it might be years before all its billing systems were fully merged and existing customers moved to a common set of plans and products.

Looks awesome!

There were commercial reasons why this couldn't happen in the past.

I've heard speculation (and I'd love it to be true) that cable and UFB will see pricing and services aligned along with pricing and cap alignment with DSL.

I haven't decided yet asked Telstraclear... The options really are few:

1. lock this subforum not allowing new topics to be created with all new discussions in the Vodafone subforum
2. move discussions in this forum to the Vodafone subforum

I personally think (x) lock this forum and new topics go on Vodafone subforum make sense for historical purposes but either way is fine.

Let's see what TelstraClear says. If nothing comes from them then I will go with # 1.

I vote option #1. It would break too many links and make the vodafone subforum confusing.

The forum works in a way that even if we move threads to other forums they links aren't broken, so this wouldn't be a problem really.

What it would be confusing is all TelstraClear discussions that really have nothing to do with Vodafone appearing in that forum timeline...

I sure hope not! I pay $54.95 for naked cable at the moment, the cheapest I can see on the Vodafone website is $85 without an "On Account mobile calling plan" whatever that is.

The forum list is already huge, I'd vote for moving and merging.

My vote is with option #1.  If only because merging with Vodafone reeks of 1984. "At this moment, for example, in 1984 (if it was 1984), Oceania was at war with Eurasia and in alliance with Eastasia. In no public or private utterance was it ever admitted that the three powers had at any time been grouped along different lines. Actually, as Winston well knew, it was only four years since Oceania had been at war with Eastasia and in alliance with Eurasia."  Kinda of, anyway!

I got word from TelstraClear the person I need to get some input on this is away until next week, so I will talk a bit more with their folks then and decide how we proceed.

I don't think there'll be plan changes for a few months, based on Stanners comments. I hope there will be because cable hasnt had an update in at least 2 years? I may be wrong.
