my wife and i are on the smart 45 which is grandfathered now but what pisses me off is that i have been a vodafone customers before it was even vodafone (original bellsouth customer) and my wife got the free 2months 4G upgrade but i didnt.

my plan is going to finish in about 2 weeks time but i cant seem to find a similar plan to the smart 45, everything is so expensive now.
I think i will be saying good bye to vodafone and jumping ship to telecom's $19 prepay which includes 4G for free.

I certainly wish the same could be said for me.
Am currently looking at my options with other carriers.

Are you on one of the older mobile plans that included 3GB of data?

Handsomedan: I just simply can't justify moving from the current plan I am on to a new, more expensive and inferior plan, just so I can go to 4G, with faster speed, the potential to use more data, faster at far higher cost and lower data cap.

I think this is a common issue. It is the old case of 'we offer you something new, so we can put the price up'.  However, these days customers are more likely to churn to someone offering the desired feature without the additional price hike.

I to cant justify paying the new red-plan fees - they are just too high. Especially since there is no real package discount for those who have other VF services such as internet and TV.

I can't understand comments like this. I've never switched plans and got worse value. I recall back in the Bellsouth days spending upward of $1000 a month, now I spend < $150 a month.

With such a wide diversity of customers and ever changing needs, no vendor will be able to keep every single person happy.

I sure am...hence my complete refusal to move plans...I have a good plan - I am in no doubt of that at all.

I agree that I used to pay a lot more when I was  Bell South customer, for a lot less, but times DO change and the cost of providing these services has obviously had an effect on the pricing at the end-consumer level.

My issue isn't that i feel ripped off...it's that the excellent deal i have doesn't allow me to take advantage of anything new, without paying a liot more for a lot less...like going back to Bell South, really...

I don't understand. You are on account, you can have 4G free is my understanding. That's what the press release says. I called up they gave it to me. Have you called them and what did they say?

I think perhaps you need to focus more on the fact you are already getting a good deal.

I called up Vodafone, I don't get free 4g with my plan, but I'd rather have more data on my current plan, than faster and less data on a new plan.
