Well actually it can take up to 2 days, each request goes into the work queue for the provisioning teams and at present there a large number of VFX signups and quite a few Astersik changes as well, we like to set real expectations it's better to exceed them than to set false expecations we feel, If we had told you it would be today and we didn't get it done you would be more unhappy with us than this way around I would suggest Wink, the provisioning team are going flat out at present (not that don't normally) as I'm around there cracking a slightly bigger than normal whip so don't be suprised if you do get something today

Got mine signed up and my number allocated today :D, now to configure Asterisk properly.

For the record, my setup is VFX --> Asterisk (on Gentoo) --> Ekiga softphones distributed throughout my multitudinous PCs :D.  Once I've got it setup I'll be writing up a quick blog.

Rang up today and had a similar experience to arataki, third person I spoke to knew what I was rambling about though and it was all sorted in 10 minutes. Cool

Thanks for the feedback, Asterisk is a bit different and is still a bit confusing for the non geeks of the world Laughing , but more than happy to look at what we are doing in all parts of the company so feedback like this is valuable.

If you can PM your Phone number and the number you called in on also the time please, I may go back through your calls and listen to see if how it was handled and where we need to improve (training , more info etc, and supply the "idiots guide on how to decipher geekanize" Laughing )

'geekanize' I love it! I've PM'ed my details to you - it's things like this that make me glad I'm a WxC customer, always improving!

Argh found the issue, and know why it was treated like this (mild stae of confusion), it is a training exercise on behalf that we need to address with certain areas of the support staff.  I am off to see the support staff and managers now Yell

For those who have got things going: can I please get a bit of help :D?  I've got asterisk going internally to ring between my various softphones now; I can also do test calls with the IAX test "number" - however, I can't get things working upstream with VFX.

I've registered VFX as an extension and given it a context.  However, when I try and dial out, I get:
--
== Spawn extension (internal, #, 2) exited non-zero on 'SIP/simon-08155628'
-- Executing Dial("SIP/simon-08155628", "SIP/VFX/xxxxxxx") in new stack
-- Called VFX/xxxxxxx
Nov 23 14:21:34 NOTICE[20896]: chan_sip.c:9854 handle_response_invite: Failed to authenticate on INVITE to '"Simon"  *sip:9950xxxx@as.wxcnz.net*;tag=as6ca1a42d' ;tag=as6ca1a42d'
--
I'm obviously passing the call along the wrong way somehow - I'm just not sure how as I'm somewhat of a newbie.  Incoming calls aren't working either but that's something I haven't investigated yet (and will do soon - I haven't forwarded ports so it's probably that).

Relevant chunk from my extensions.conf:
--
[outbound-local]
exten => _1NXXXXXX,1,Dial(${OUTBOUNDTRUNK}/${EXTEN:1})

Is anyone able to offer some advice :)?

We're not registering here, either. I assume that I use the values contained in the email for the pasword / userid settings rather than my actual account values ie; for the website? As well as the phone number without the leading zero?
