Of course you did log a issue with the help desk on this Wink ?

How long is that supposed to take?

Not yet. It's only happened a couple of times, and now that i know how to fix it, and that its being looked into, i don't yet see the need. At the moment its just a slight annoyance rather than a problem, but i have faith in Xnet.

You send them an e-mail and within 10 minutes get an automated response with a ticket number.  So far I have always had a human response within 24h, usually 12 hours.  Alternatively you phone them and a human answers within 3 rings, then you tell them the problem and they give you a ticket number.

Quattro/Phil, please keep us updated on the progress.  Thanks.

It always longer than a working week to get a response when I email them.

As long as it's not a weekend, I've always had a response well within 24 hours.

Had a couple of questions for Xnet in November 2007 and quick replies from Carl and Craig.

I've emailed 2-3 times in the last three months, and each time the wait's been over a working week to get an initial response, and every second reply took a couple of days (with one CSR)

I cant say in my limited dealings with them moving mums connection to them from ihug I have had any problems getting in touch or getting answers from xnet at all, plus I dont need an interpriter to understand them (like is the case with ihug often)

Some work has been done today to re investigate the issue raised, it looks to be around upload speeds only,  we have may have identified a potential issue, we have also made a couple of network changes and tested them,  if anyone is having the same issue as reported here after 4.00pm today please let us know,  now this issue we believe appears as a throttling of the upstream speed only

Also got this problem, wondered why I could only get 20-30KB/s, speed test peaked out as 200kbit but on rebooting back in business, it's a Billion Modem. (yeah, not a brand I have ever heard of either)

Telecom has used confusion as it's chief marketing tool. And that's fine you could argue that's all of us keep calling prices up and get those revenues, high margin businesses keeping going for a lot longer than would have been the case. But at some level whether they consciously acknowledge it or not customers know that's what the game has been.  They know we are not being straight upTheresa Gattung

I have had this issue twice this week - had not happened before this.  Last time it happened was the 12th - pulling the dsl line did not restore speed but rebooting router resolved.  Kills download speed but router sync speed remains constant.
Using a WAG54GP2V2.  I will monitor and log fault with HD if this happens again.
Cheers.
