Hi,

I am very pleased to report that last night, I plugged in the router and worked 1st time. Looks like the arp packets were the cause. For the record, the online light on the modem flashes a lot less frequently.

thanks for all your input

With the reduction of ARP traffic I am now wondering if I can remove my Linksys WRT54GL and go back to using my D-link (which is still plugged in since I need the 802.11a support in it).  Might have a Linksys up for sale soon Smile

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.
