When hauwei is no longer seen as a spy device, Probably... Otherwise may be costly to get there?

When the Government freed up 600mhz they indicated they were keen for it to be used by 5g.

Vodafone still don't have 4G on some of their towers (like where I live). Perhaps they could get on and finish that first...

FFS. The fact NIWA don't even understand that a 3.5GHz signal can't interfere with their 24GHz satellite signal is incredibly concerning.

Reminds me of an EMF warrior client I had. Wanted cables run a certain route well away from his hobby room in his new home. Gave me a lecture on how harmful EMF, gamma rays and god knows what else were terrible and he couldn't bare to be near them....he told me all this standing outside in the very bright sunlight.

I'm fully aware of that. The key thing is they are *not* in use yet. They won't cause the world to end like NIWA and Newshub are suggesting.

To quote Newshub

"NIWA's forecasters are among a global cohort of scientists who are worried the frequency used by 5G will disturb the frequency used by one of the most important weather satellites.

"New Zealand meteorologists are warning the new 5G phone network could affect their predictions - and put lives at risk."

These quite simply are blatantly false statements.

Even if they are in use after 2022 when existing MRs expire and were auctioned they will still not cause interference, as the very well written articles on this topic discrediting the original non techy article from earlier in the year explain.

NIWA should be discrediting this FUD, not spreading it further.

Perhaps I'm blind- I didn't see any articles of the sort when flicking through the pages on this thread. Given a quick google, I couldn't find much solid information either. Would appreciate you linking said articles. I have found

There are already huge numbers of devices using 24GHz frequencies globally.

Here in New Zealand Vodafone already use 24GHz extensively, and have done so for many years. There would also be literally hundreds (if not thousands) of radio links in New Zealand using 24GHz ISM frequencies. Maybe somebody should ask NIWA what impact the existing use of these frequencies has on their ability to detect water vapour?

You're also talking about a *very* specific frequency, 23.8GHz. Issues could simply be avoided by not allowing this small section of the mmWave band to be used. Situation avoided. Simple.

Careful now, if vodafone lost their Microwave links they wouldnt be able to use them for RBI towers... then the world would really be at an end! no service!
