Ok, confirming the "existence" of WarpSpeed plan in Wellington/Johnsonville. Plan will be active from 12pm, meter already switched over - as thought changing plans reset the usage meter as well:

Hi, so is there any sign of newer higher (>25Mb/s) speed plans for the DOCSIS3 upgrade yet.

It's mentioned in my post and in the article which has been linked twice in this thread (once in my post)...

"The bigger benefits will come later this year when TelstraClear starts offering new internet plans that will offer faster headline speeds, for which customers will need new Docsis3-capable cable modems. Speeds of 100 megabits per second should then be possible, Mr Lee says"

I think the question "there any sign of newer higher (>25Mb/s) speed plans for the DOCSIS3 upgrade yet." was for something more specific than that statement.

Plan change seems to be in full effect... Shame testing against the Auckland speedtest server doesn't go past 12Mbps - barely 50% of the 25Mbps "warpspeed" really.

Goes past 12Mb/s here, sometimes as high as 16Mb/s

Just now it peaked at 14Mbps:

I certainly signed up for the plan change because of the allowance, but getting 50% of the promised speed is a bit too much, certainly - for cable?

Just in case anyone thinks the bottleneck is with the Auckland server, see this one from this morning:

Concidering my speed is limited by my ADLS2+ connection I think you have right to demand more Mauricio, hope they can honor even higher speed plans yet again once DOCSIS3 is in place.

Amanzi, speeding is cheating :)

On the other hand YouTube cache is fast now. It seems TelstraClear continues to battle the "if content is not inside our network, who cares" paradigm...

Yeah it's not the Auckland speedtest server that's the slow part, here's a test from some ICONZ hosting:

Mauricio, try out something on Paradise's network, like this (111MB Debian CD). You'll need to use a multi-part downloader to see what your speed can get to - I can't get full 10Mbps on it with a single stream (I used to though...).
