Anyone having to unplug their unit on a daily basis just to get it working?

Everyday when I try to use it, I get a blank screen (black) and no audio.

I have to unplug it to get it working again.

I've tried a software reset.

@tonynz This is fixed with a software update and spoken about in this thread in the last few pages

You can easily get the beta version from @sansom DM your email address you use for VodafoneTV

Just reminding folks that beta software is close to release but not final. You might find problems with it. So if you are not happy with possibly non-stable software, don't ask for it - wait until it is tested and approved for general release.

I found it to be more stable by Selecting "Instant On" in the Power settings.

How is sky multiroom dealt with, do you sign up for a sky account and can use it on more than 1 box or do you have to pay separate for each box?

Multi-room will work as follows:

  1. You purchase additional VodafoneTV box or boxes from a retailer or through Vodafone online store
  2. You activate your VodafoneTV multi-room boxes via www.vtv.nz. (Just like you did for the first box.)
  3. You add the SKY packages you want via www.vtv.nz and they are instantly available on all your boxes.
  4. If you have SKY, you are charged $25 inc GST per month per additional multi-room box.
  5. For Freeview package only, there is no additional monthly charges for additional boxes.
  6. You can have up to 5 boxes on one account.
  7. All your SKY subscriptions are available to all boxes on your account.
  8. All recordings are available on all boxes on your account.

Hope this helps!

Can I please request to be able to have Sky on 1 box and only optionally enable Sky on additional boxes under the same email address please?

Any better idea on the release of  multi-device support? Is there an update to a firmer date of the proposed release of multi-device support other than what we have been told so far of either this week or next week please? Also will a second VTR on the same email address be able to be taken to a retirement hospital by my wife temporarily, when she is in for respite care, without having to pay for additional Sky subscription other than a sky subscription on the first device and the extra $25 per additional device if we add sky?

Hi Ivan,

Development has just started and we use 1 week sprints.  Dev started one week later than expected as we had to change some of the requirements and design due to a discovery on how the VTV cloud platform handles multiple connections under one household account.  As a result of this discovery we now believe the development is very likely to take 2 sprints.

You will be able to set up multiple devices on your Freeview household account without paying the $25 sky charge.  The household account (ie the registered email address) with multiroom will be able to share recordings across the same subscription type.  If you don't have Sky then you won't need to pay the Sky $25 charge.

Some info I found which some may find to be helpful for some users to combine TV and VTV.  Also to control the Volume.

To Pair your VodafoneTV Remote with your TV

  1. Turn on your TV that you wish to pair with
  2. Press and hold the Yellow and OK buttons on your remote until the Power button blinks green twice
  3. Point the remote towards your TV
  4. Press and hold the Power button on your remote until your TV turns off (this may take up to 30 seconds), then release the Power button
  5. The LED will indicate its progress by a long green blinking
  6. Press the Power button to turn your TV back on

To Reset your remote control

  1. Press and hold the Blue and Menu buttons until the Power button blinks green twice
  2. Press 9 four times, the Power button will blink green each time you press 9

After the fourth time, the Power button will blink Red four times and your remote will be back to it's original state

I am assuming the above procedure only works with a TV? I would really like to be able to use the remote to control the volume of my stereo receiver that I have connected via optical.

So just bought one of these, and it's stuck on "Your Vodafone TV is connecting to the Internet...."
This was after the remote only responding to every 10th button press when trying to choose network or WiFi connection options.
Do I have a lemon?
I've unplugged it multiple times, restarted router etc.

I've noticed it does that on 57.11 Update and assume it is doing it the same way on 57.10, if the ethernet connection can't be stablished. I suggest trying another device on that cable and checking that your Router is supporting DHCP.

Are you using a VPN or different DNS provider? (e.g 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8)

Neither of those.

Finally got into the menu screen, but when I go into network settings it just hangs again. I then get "network configuration reading failure. Network wireless list_ap4". And its now stuck here.

Are you connecting by Wifi? If so are you able to test with an Ethernet Cable?
