Can this please be replicated?

on my current PVR (A dual tuner satellite  unit ) when watching recorded content , to skip adverts all i have to do is hit the right bracket button (next to the ok button ) then hit the number to jump e.g (1-9) 3 for 3 mins or 4 in the case of most primetime shows.

The left bracket next to the ok button is set to -10 seconds back

simple and easy to use and I havn't seen an advert in about 7 or 8 years.

That too...

I'm a tester and product owner. So both the ends of the trail... I just can't work it out... No way could they do anything big.

It just means really tiny stories that can be tuesday wednesday and thursday. I hope it's on a really mature and stable platform with awesome software interfaces and skilled people to call on.

Some info I found which some may find to be helpful for some users to combine TV and VTV.  Also to control the Volume.

Thank you for posting this, works perfectly.

Some info I found which some may find to be helpful for some users to combine TV and VTV.  Also to control the Volume.

To Pair your VodafoneTV Remote with your TV

  1. Turn on your TV that you wish to pair with
  2. Press and hold the Yellow and OK buttons on your remote until the Power button blinks green twice
  3. Point the remote towards your TV
  4. Press and hold the Power button on your remote until your TV turns off (this may take up to 30 seconds), then release the Power button
  5. The LED will indicate its progress by a long green blinking
  6. Press the Power button to turn your TV back on

To Reset your remote control

  1. Press and hold the Blue and Menu buttons until the Power button blinks green twice
  2. Press 9 four times, the Power button will blink green each time you press 9

After the fourth time, the Power button will blink Red four times and your remote will be back to it's original state

Thanks for this - sounds interesting but could you elaborate on what is linked? What I am hoping for is to have the VTV (assuming it has gone onto Standby) turn on when I turn the TV on. Or have TV turn on if I turn VTV on. i.e. avoid having to pick up two remotes to turn these on. Same for ‘off’.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Looking at purchasing a second hand Vodafone TV Box, How do I idenfify if it's gen 1 or Gen 2?

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

This is exactly how it is working for me. Once set up, if you hit the power button (while pointing at TV) then it turns on both the TV and VTV. Press it again, it turns both off. Volume controls the TV now, not VTV. So, you only need one remote, which is awesome in our situation as the TV remote is busted!

All the second hand trademe units are Gen1 and will not work.  The new units on trademe are overpriced by folk trying to make a buck.

Likewise, Facebook Marketplace.

I managed to activate this thing yesterday before it crapped the bed. Now I've managed to reset it so it's not stuck on the same broken screen, but it's asking to be activated again.

But it's already attached to my account, and you can't add a second box. And I can't see how to remove the old one. This thing really is an expensive paperweight.

Send me a PM with your registered email address and I can remove it so you can re-add it to your account.

Cheers,

@dryburn

Gen 2 has WiFi and is smaller than Gen 1.  Noel Lemming has them this weekend on sale for $148 and $90 of vouchers for Neno (3 months free) and Lightbox (4 months free) if that helps.

I'm watching something on HGTV called big Beach builds the visual quality absolutely awful.

Every panned shot goes into jump juddering. It looks like very nasty 30 to 25 fps conversion of some type and i've noticed this on shows on choice tv as well. What the heck are theses channel doing?

Yep, it’s like that from source. Both channels are from the same company.
