Node W87 seems to be playing nice tonight (on 50/2). Although I don't think I've had too many issues so this node might not have been all that bad to begin with.

Hi everyone

The team successfully upgraded the nodes in Berhampore, Burma, Kapiti, and the first of the Karori nodes today. Work will continue over the next week to upgrade all the busy nodes.

I'll continue to work directly with the project managers and pass on updates when available, I expect that will be Monday morning.

Again we very much appreciate your patience.

Cheers

Dylan

Will there be any work over the weekend?

Cable connection in Woodridge seems to be struggling in the past few weeks....  but tonight seems to be hitting all time lows in the low single digits both ways (on 100/10) fairly consistently in peak times. Obviously better than some however would hate to be overlooked by the big V 'cause I didn't complain enough!

Good question, I should have said in my post above. There is no node upgrade work scheduled this weekend. The team work very hard normally, and have been working exceptionally hard with this upgrade project. They'll be back Monday morning and I understand they have a very busy week ahead.

It's congested peak time so it's getting upgraded

I'm also in Woodridge (The Newlands end). My speed tests have always shown max speeds even at peak times, but real world performance can be terrible. I don't know if it is the modem, but Netflix streaming to wifi devices is terrible, goes from 240p to 720p (rarely goes to 1080p) every few minutes. I did not have this issue on my fibre modem in Jville which was always 1080p within seconds anywhere in the house. Could be wifi issues. Even brought a wifi extender thinking it may have been out of range even though we are in small 3 bedroom house and the wifi only needs to go through one wall. Netflix on the XB1 which is plugged into the modem also suffers resolutions drops every 10-15mins.

New to the Rant Here!

I have been having issues with cable for 4-5 months.

Has anyone noticed the sporadic packet-loss and latency?  run a continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 and occationally get 3-4s of dropped packets, or occasionally a 200ms+ ping?

Meaning holding SSH and IRC connections a pipe-dream!

Im getting VERY sick of Vodafone not taking the responsibility here and wanting me to do the same old isolation tests, then never getting back to me

I am on the same complaint scale or do I have a different issue than everyone else?

Just wait another week or so for the cable upgrade, and you will find out wink

No sign yesterday of any change in our 16 panelists connections - however the work has only just begun so the sample may be too small to show any that have been affected.  All panelists connections recorded less than 5Mb/s at either 8 or 9pm last night.

Once again tonight, speeds are maxed but performance is not so good. I'm going to be pevved if this is what I can expect from now on. Everything was fine 1-2 weeks ago.

Once again, you weren't having congestion issues before and it doesn't look like you're having them now. Log a fault with Vodafone.
