I agree, not congestion, but I do think it relates to the upgrade work. I'm not ringing Vodafone, I would rather walk on fire than go through Vodafone support ever again.

Based on what?

If there really is an issue with your connection then posting here isn't going to get it fixed. If you're not willing to work with VF to resolve the problem there's not much they can do.

You don't have congestion problems. Continuing to post your unrelated problems here is as useful as those perfect speed tests you kept posting before.

Based on the amount of other people that have started having issues since the upgrade work started. I also know the Vodafone techs are watching this topic, so I'm sure they would be gathering feedback from all users.

Ps. Don't be so touchy dude, lighten up.

YouTube's been good tonight, at least. I was even linked to a 4K, 60 FPS video, and the playback was solid. :)

Still excited to see things after the cutover. Hopefully we're included in one of the batches this week!

Scotty1986: Once again tonight, speeds are maxed but performance is not so good. I'm going to be pevved if this is what I can expect from now on. Everything was fine 1-2 weeks ago.

I suspect your case is different. Are you using WiFi by any chance?

Speeds are ok this sunday morning, but almost impossible to work - trying to get some stuff done on LinkedIn and Twitter ads for the company I work for and simply loading a page doesn't work or takes minutes. Anything outside NZ is just hard...

Based on your previous comments you're testing via WiFi, not Ethernet. You haven't experienced congestion before and you're not now. You don't know if any changes have been made to your node. You're not doing enough analysis to isolate your issue and you're not posting enough info here for it to be useful to Vodafone if it was actually related. Lastly, this isn't a Vodafone support thread, it's a thread about congestion issues.

My issue is, and perhaps I was too blunt before, most of your posts to this thread have been off topic. That's all.

Staying off topic for the moment, have you tried using a WiFi analyzer to verify the channel you're using is the best choice and your signal strength is acceptable in the location you're testing? Once you've done that, if you're still having issues the only sensible option is to contact Vodafone. They're really not as bad as you're making out, particularly the tech guys.

I'm getting 6Mbps down, 2Mbps up nationally and internationally. Not great, but usable. What's odd is my upstream bandwidth has never had an issue and never dropped below 10Mbps, now it looks like it's being capped at 2Mbps.

Speed this morning 10am from Khandallah to US West Coast

Just to see if that reflects in real-world performance I tried updating my blogspot blog and the response was fine.

Here are some TrueNet Wellington cable stats for the past week.

These file download speeds are the daily averages of a small group of volunteers whose connections may or may not have been upgraded ...

(The volunteers have a mixture of 100/10 and 130/10Mbps connections - thus the latest speed is above 100Mbps.)

THE GOOD NEWS  This graph shows a distinct improvement in average speeds over the week ...
THE BAD NEWS     .... but most users (including me) are still getting a severe speed dip in the evenings, as reported by John Butt yesterday.

I'm in Newlands and on 100/10, still experiencing congestion issues in the evening - Speedtest at least down to the 30s at times, real world performance in the single digits. Over the last week or two I've also had the internet connection dropping off entirely for 5-30 minutes at a time; I've been putting this down to the upgrades, but it happened again about 15 minutes ago (Sunday) and no upgrade work is meant to be going on this weekend.

The more annoying thing is that I've been getting intermittent long delays when browsing, as much as 1-3 minutes, while resolving connections to Google analytics, maps, etc. and also non-Google CDNs. This has been happening for at least 6 weeks and is so frustrating that I'm looking at paying the $200 to break contract so I can switch to VDSL with another provider.

I'm struggling to find the patience but I'm giving Vodafone to the end of September and if my issues aren't resolved then I'm switching. If UFB was available at my house I'd already be gone.

Im also experincing delay on accesing sites with google analytics etc. same with speedtest. Im not having this issue with my adsl with another provider. But when I joined voda cable, it would take time to complete the webpage. I believe this is something to do with voda proxy. I am really keen to move with another provider. Just so many issues with cable.

Hopefully congestion will be fixed this end of month and hopefully they can fix this delay with google analytics and other google domains.

Both Wifi and Ethernet. While Ethernet outperforms the wifi devices it to has drops in quality while streaming. Often speed test does not completely load and websites often slow down to a crawl. I seem to have my connection drop at least once a day for up to 15mins.
