alasta:

Tonight when I turned my unit on I got a message saying that it was not connected to the Internet. It prompted me to go into the settings but only the parental control settings were available so there was nothing I could do to attempt to fix the connectivity problem.

After a few minutes it suddenly just continued working normally.

Is this problem going to be fixed in the next software update?

Yes definitely.  (said with fingers crossed behind my back)

Last night we were experiencing micro pauses of a second or two on multiple channels. Netflix was fine.

We have experienced that too. From memory it was after we had paused or rewound live/OTA TV then FF’ed to catch up to live again.

If you hit Menu then re-select the live programme you are watching, that should/may resolve it.

But thinking further, that doesn’t explain why you were experiencing it on multiple channels. Our experience wasn’t on multiple channels.

Last night it was when we came home and turned on to vege out. We had not done any rewind etc and yes in the past it has caused that behaviour . Last night it went on for a quite a while ( or seemed like it) and we got cheesed off and looked at Netflix.

A fix for this (Velocix Origin server software patch) going in tonight at 11pm.

Our unit completely spat the dummy tonight. We went to change channel from TV2 to Food TV when the unit appeared to crash, it then opened Netflix then the guide opened. The unit then froze. We tried to reboot the unit and after three attempts we gave up. I will try again tomorrow. This thing seems to be getting more and more unstable.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Hi @MikeB4, sorry to hear about this.  This is very unusual, none of the Gen2 units we're using or monitoring are having this set of issues after a power cycle.  We are aware of the micro pausing that is occurring once or twice a night on some channels and this will be fixed tonight.  There is also the firmware update on Monday night which will fix a number of other stability / compatibility issues reported over the last few weeks, but nothing like what you've just seen.

When you say you've tried to reboot three times, what actually happens?  Currently all units we see reliably reboot and start streaming after a power cycle, so it would be great if we can understand what's happening with your unit.

My unit did seem to be quite warm. I have relocated it and left it off to cool off I will check it tomorrow.

Is multi-room a goer yet? Nothing said for a while raises concerns.

I'm very keen to hear the answer to this also, was meant to be launched today according to James from Vodafone, after delays last week.

And away we go. Multi-room is alive and kicking! Thanks VF VTV team.

Now all I need to do is get the remote paired via bluetooth. Straight out of the box and IR only, reset doesn't work - two steps forward and one step back it seems. It is the way.

My unit has been getting an issue where the would wake from stand by and there would be sound but no picture.

The menu seems to display fine but none of the preview thumbnails or streaming content would be display (we can hear sound).

A power cycle seems to work (unplug power)

Loving the device. I expected Amazon Prime to become available yesterday. It’s not there this morning, checked updates and it says the device is up to date.

Has there been a delay?

Software version is 5.1.5711.06jfa(NZ)/5.1.5711.06571110

Software Last Updated: Not Available

@sansom are you able to shed some light on this?

Thanks

Had a similar issue with my remote.  Discovered that the Apple devices near the VF box were interfering with the signal. Turned all the Bluetooth devices off and paired no issues.  Turned Apple devices back on and still connected by Bluetooth.

@sansom You indicated a few posts up the there was going to be some updates rolled out to patch some of the issues I have raised. Have these updates been distributed? My machine is sill sitting on 5.1.5711.06jd(NZ)/ 5.1.5711.06571102 and when I select update manually it advises that my machine is up to date.

The current release just made either yesterday or today is 5.1.5711.06jfa(Nz)/5.1.5711.06571110.  If you have not updated to this as yet, you should be able to do so with Settings, More Settings, Update.
