DavidVF: Hi all,
If I could request some information from anyone that's experiencing this problem, to help with characterisation of the issue:
- What is your access method (ADSL, cable modem, UFB etc)?
- Are you on the ex-TelstraClear network?
- Is this problem affecting browsing only, or is it also impacting e.g., gaming? Bonus points: if it's affecting browsing, is it impacting https traffic, or only http?
- What DNS are you using? Only Vodafone DNS servers / Vodafone plus third party (e.g. Google) / thrid-party only?
- Have you raised a ticket about this (if so I may PM you to get the ticket number, so we can may sure all the relevant tickets are grouped up appropriately)?
Thanks very much for your help
David

Which world you're in? I'm in Balmung until world transfer becomes available then I'm moving to Siren. However the ping rate was so bad (up to 4seconds on receive)... that I may have to consider a VPN connection - which I don't know if it is legal for FFXIV and which VPN service be ideal.

freitasm: Ok, just got a couple of phone calls from Vodafone and here is some information.
There was a problem and they did have some planned maintenance to try and fix - it seems load balancing and other related stuff was scheduled. This didn't go well as planned and some connections that weren't affected before (such as mine) then started showing problems.
They then started a second, unplanned work, which involved some reset, configuration loading, new hardware coming in. I tried accessing some sites I had problems with - Amazon, Google, Twitter, Feedly even Geekzone and now it seems they are all working again.
