The ComCom determination has been released to the Stock Exchange this morning, so I'm guessing that final pricing for Xnet Fusion won't be too far away?

Yes I hope so I see there is a slight variation in prices from the August draft determination and they have also added a 180kbps enhancement as well. The difference in prices at the most is about $5 in one or 2 cases and some are slightly less than August. So looking forward to seeing xnets naked bitstream and VFX service become a reallity.

Well folks, we the Commission did not give us the best Xmas present in terms of Unbundled Bitstream pricing as a stand alone product. In fact the service is going to cost us over $2 more than we anticipated when we issued our pricing intentions. Had the price dropped, we would have passed some savings on to the consumer or integrated data bundles. The good news for you is that Xnet intend to keep the $69.95 figure originally published.

The other good news is the QoS 40, 90 & 180kbps service rates. Small business will really benifit here as it will be a heck of a lot cheaper than the currently sold access alternatives. Unfortunately, in relation to QoS, the regulated price does not take effect until Sept 08. Guess we'll have plenty of time to construct the collateral and website info.

We are busily prepairing the web site to officially launch Xnet Fusion and thanks to you folks, the FAQs are getting bigger. I have to tell ya, there have been times over the past couple weeks where I've considered renaming the service Xnet conFusion.

We are still digesting the determination but have seen some positive changes in relation to install charges and early disconnect penalties. Xnet have whiteboard sessions scheduled for next week to hammer out the last bits and will properly launch as soon as possible.

At first glance the determination will also benifit subscribers who want to keep their POTS line and DSL seperate. We will get our heads around that and make announcement nearer to the date when the rates take affect.

Yes indeed!  Given the degree of difficulty in explaining to people that you cannot have UBS on its own without paying for a POTS line, this change would have been most appropriate Laughing

It is really hard for people to see why Xnet Fusion is $20 more expensive than Xnet Flood when they usually think it should be cheaper...

what does this mean keeping POTS and DSL seperate, what benefit ?

Currently for me keeping POTS and Xnet River is the same cost as Xnet Fusion

Are Wxc aware that Woosh already have a plan called Fusion?

And if by some small miracle they haven't and need to change the name I want the right to come up with the new name, a little bit like if you discover a new star.

I will start to draw up a shortlist, of course having a product with the term naked in it's name provides for all sorts of possibilities.....

No, it doesn't depend on the exchange AFAIK.  Basically, if you can get ADSL Broadband via your phone line, you should be able to switch over to Xnet Fusion.

I have a Static IP on one of my Xnet accounts, and there is no extra charge.  This is a standard no extra cost option with most ISPs who offer FS/FS plans, so -- given that Xnet Fusion is FS/FS -- I don't expect there will be any extra charge for a Static IP.

In the bad old days Xtra used to charge an additional $30 per month for a Static IP Surprised but I haven't heard of that happening for the past couple of years since they aligned business and residential broadband pricing.

I have seen a small charge for enabling a static IP somewhere, but not with XNet.  Actually, a static IP is free on all the XNet broadband plans.  I had it on 256/128 and now also have it on FS/128.

I agree with Grant it is very decent of you to keep xnetfusion at $69.95 another satisfied customer here. If the sums are out abit Grant Phil might have to buy his "beautiful wife" a new pair of shoes every two years instead of every year

So, when is this product actually going to be able to be ordered? We have heard November, then December, now January. We have clients waiting for it before changing ISP's.

Any firm launch dates now? Cool

According to http://www.xnet.co.nz/staticip/ there's now a $9.95 charge for a static IP with Xnet.

It says from the NZ herald website that with the FS/FS naked dsl with Voip for $80 you also get 10GB is that correct?
