Also, if we were to compare Vodafone's plan with Telecom's, I'd say Vodafone's is far superior in that their entry level plan does not have an exorbitant overage data price. Where in Telecom's 200MB plan, the end user gets charged 2c/MB, and on Vodafone you get speed-limited, which I believe is only fair since a new broadband user is generally less aware of going over the bundled data.

I like whats coming :)

I wont be on the 1gig plan as it would be to low for the 2 users of the internet in my household. I have seen the affairs of alot of ISP's in AUS and they all start at 200 to 250megs of data, So I think 1 Gig really allows the user to have a go without a huge fear of a big bill and also if they do get capped to 64k they can purchase the double data to get them through. $5 isn't hugely expensive on that front either!

My views are mine and don't necessarily reflect that of my employer.

ARGGHH!! really frustrating.

Im an old IHUG customer on Broandband 3....I want to upgrade to Ultimate with talk 3....Where the hell on the webpage do I sign up??

Tried going through the sign me up part, but faced with a choice of "I dont have internet at home" OR "I have internet on another network"

Answer - I have internet with you guys already!!

Also logged onto my account to see if change account details was there....no luck though???

They removed the "Change Account Type" link, so you're going to have to call them unfortunately

Thanks.....well I tried to call them last night, but the wait time was 40 minutes!!

Also noticed there sign up option on the website was disabled.....dont Vodafone want our money??

Has anyone who currently has an Ihug/Voda bband account on there old network, managed to change over to the new red network??

Just wondering if Voda dont want all there current subscribers changing over, as we'd all take advantage of the $30 per month off deal....therefore, losing them money????

I sent them an email, asking about switching over (from the old broadband 3 to red ultimate). I still have my phone with Telecom, so asked about a complete switch over.
So far, 2 days later I haven't had a reply. In the same email I asked why they hadn't charged my credit card last month. They just didn't bill me so my account now shows 2 months outstanding.

I'm not sure whats going on at Vodafone towers, but the accounts department are not too responsive

I am currently with Orcon and have been waiting for them to install ADSL 2 in my area. I live in Birkdale and have noticed on the Ocron ADSL 2 map my area isn't going to upgraded anytime soon.

On the Red Network site my address is all good for ADSL 2. My question to Vodafone is, is your equipment installed in the exchange at the top of Birkdale Rd? I am only about 1km from that exchange so my speeds should be pretty good if I change to Vodafone.

well just tried to ring them again, and the wait time was 30 mins!

Thats kinda hard to do when your at work.

Question to Vodafone......why are you making it so hard for existing customers to sign up??

Why was the change account type taken down from the 'my vodafone' section on your website?

Ive been with Ihug since 2006 and never ever had any hassle to change/upgrade accounts before....why now?

Bloody frustrating as....surely more people are in the same boat???

Not as bad as Telecom offering Broadband Plans with a 200MB Data cap & then 2cents per MB thereafter. Before you say it, yes my statement is related to the topic, because you have made a point about how pathetic 1GB of Data usuage is, whereas Telecom offer FAR worse & are trying to entice people to move away from Dialup.

OT - This will only result in the customer losing out big time with huge bills & Telecom know this very well, hence the way they marketed this whole plan & it's very promotion in all media.

At least with Vodafone's 1GB Plan, you have the option of surfing out the rest of the month at dial up speeds, or "double your data for another $5" at full speed.

Basically, I said the same information, but expressed it differently & at the end of the day, there is really nothing wrong with that. I am more straight to the point however & yes I do prefer Vodafone over Telecom which goes without saying. At the end of the day, it would kind of be a boring place to live, if everyone was the same & posted the same. Until you have met in person, you can't really judge me & likewise with me saying anything about other people. Attending the next GeekZone Conference might have to be something I do next next year, so long as it doesn't collide with my very busy schedule & Big OE to Europe next year.

Whilst I admit my direct way of talking/posting may offend some people, at least, what you get is what you read, not a "I'm trying to fit in with everyone & I don't want to rock the boat approach" which appears to be commonly adopted by a lot of people here.

One other thing I find, is that there are a huge number of people who complain here, about often trivial things & blame Vodafone for everything. Where as if they stratched the surface & thought about the big picture, they should think that Internet Speeds are affected by a mulitude of different factors & International Connectivity as well as National Infrastrucutre is still largely outside of the control of Vodafone & pretty much every other provider.

Food for thought maybe............sorry to go Off Topic, but I think this pretty sums up a few important issues, of which can often be mis-construed........

I hope this is considered on topic.

I signed up for the Red Network on the way to work this morning at 6:30am - didnt have any wait other than listening to there trouble shooting message which I could not seem to bypass.

I was a bit peeved that apparently the 20Gb plan is $90 (minus the $30 rebate) so its $60, BUT the guy told me you need to add a Talk plan like Talk1 etc, which is another $15 so its really $75. Anyone confirm this is correct???? If so sounds like false advertising to me.

Also the guy said that they have Huawei DSLAM's, and the a Huawei ADSL modem would probably work best. I cant however find anyone selling Huawei modems!!

I see a thread also saying Huawei filters are best - again cant find em.....

Anyone able to help out here?

On another note I went to a guys house the other day who was about 10m away from the exchange. His attenutation was 4/1 - NICE!

Vodafone is giving away both modem and connection free at the moment.

Also if you sign up before the end of July you receive the rest of the year's broadband component for free (on the Easy plan - $30/month discount off the greater plans).

Sorry, not sure I understand your question... the three packages all come with toll calling plan and/or mobile plan to achieve the $30 saving. If you're after the new plans you need to take out the tolls package as well.

The modems are sold independently and I think they're $49.95 but I'm not sure so I'll double check.
