A new WCDMA 2100 site at Remarkables Shopping Centre (Frankton-Queenstown, beside the airport) was integrated a couple of weeks ago - should be going live soon.

Now based in Perth WA.

michaelmurfy: Hey John;

Any plans to put a Voda Tower in the little town of Wakefield (South of Nelson) - Even if it's just a Roadside Lightpole one it will be still epic.. The maps on the coverage site state that it's pretty good coverage, but in reality there are so many holes in that >.<

Interesting...every time I've driven through there the coverage has been okay. Not fantastic, but acceptable.

My parents live in a hole... Well a gaping hole of coverage. Right in the centre of Wakefield. My HTC Magic (HSDPA900) phone works pretty good though, it's more my blackberry, I hate having to walk outside when I get a call on my work phone lol.

Thread bump:
How come the drop in all the mobile data devices John? Is something newer on the way very soon?
I'm probably going to buy a new Vodem today :)

You talking about the $99 Prepay Vodem and $199 Vodem Pro?

Nothing is coming out soon as I know of, I actually just noticed it then when I sold a prepay vodem >.< - It would be wonderful if LTE came out next year though.

Don't you live in Nellyville Quickymart? If so we will see you soon lol. I'm based in the Richmond Mall.

I actually ended up going to a Vodafone Retail shop as opposed to my local First Mobile; the very friendly young woman there had no idea of that deal and said that they were all franchises and she couldn't offer me that deal. I went to a VF Retail shop instead and was able to get it at $199 - although the young man in there looked surprised about this as well; is this a brand-spanking-new deal or something, John?

Drop in Vodem prices is a new permanent position for Vodafone NZ. Volumes for mobile broadband are huge worldwide and we're bringing the volume pricing benefits to godzone.

LTE coming ... But significant work to be done and coverage won't match hspa for a long time.

No worries.
By the way John - is this Vodem locked to Vodafone or something? I just tried a 2Degrees SIM card in it to see what would happen, but the Mobile Connect software packed a bit of a sad and said something like "insert correct SIM". I'm not planning to jump ship, but just curious.
