The problem is that high speed test results doesn't necessarily means "working". I've had 50 - 60 Mbps weeks back and couldn't load Twitter or Facebook. It has to be an end-to-end fix. Let's see how this goes...

Speeds in Upper Riccarton, Christchurch seem to have finally recovered. I've been testing for the last few hours, and constantly hitting 100/10. Let's hope it holds!

I've also noticed my modem has changed from 2 upstream channels to 3.

Im having this issue as well. could not load fb, twitter, even speedtest.. it could take 2-3 mins before it loads even I got 90Mbps down..
My resolution is to setup my own proxy server at home and problem resolved.. looks like voda proxy is having issue too..

Hi JaniceL, I provided all sorts of logs and Wireshark traces, had a tech remotely access regards my slow access to sites (which were better when using a proxy). Pretty much exactly as the other guy described. After several months I got a response saying there is no problem. It's pretty demoralizing after the tech who remotely accessed acknowledged things were very wrong.

Day two of 'fixed' cable... Can't complete a speedtest because my upload speed has dropped to between 0.0 and 0.02Mb/s. Think I preferred the pre-fix performance.

edit: spoke too soon, did the test again on the vodafone site and got as much as 0.07Mb/s upload for part of the test! zoooooooom! ;)

I was told many times Johnsonville was one of the most congested nodes and I haven't seen any mention of that being touched yet cry

I have been told the same about the node I am connected to in Wainuiomata and I have yet to see it pop up on the upgrade list. 7 more days!

Edit:
On the plus side, this is one of the faster test results I have had this time of the evening I have seen in some time.

@Lukeroge how do I see the cable modem stats? Is this available on the stock cisco modem?

Island Bay
cable "100/10" Mbps
No upgrade yet.
Considerable improvement over the last week - peak-hour speeds have risen to half-normal.
Speeds are difficult to measure and fluctuate wildly.

Speeds also vary according to how you test them (wired):

eg at 7:30pm tonight:

https://www.speedtest.net (Wellington)  98/10 Mbps
http://wellington.speedtest.vodafone.co.nz  (Wellington)    50/10 Mbps  <<<  this has to be wrong because international speeds are higher!

Both of theses sites are OOKLA, so at least one of them has to be wrong.

https://www.nperf.com/en (Sydney)    60/10 Mbps
