Predated: Don't forgot this is comparing Vodafones standard offer against 2 degrees and Skinnys Xmas offerings which finish in January

All we also have 4G Prepay coming next week,

boby55: Add 4G into that mix and it's pretty competitive

4G just makes that 500MB so much smaller

boby55: The current Vodafone Smart19 Data promo is every time you top-up you can choose to double either your data or Minutes. Add 4G into that mix and it's pretty competitive

I'm pretty sure this relates only to the $25 plan ($19 plus bestmate) and only on the sim cards that come with specific phones like the smart mini or Galaxy pocket neo. I have yet to get a straight answer on this but I don't think it's for existing customers.

I have never been offered this, and I've only recently topped up - and as said above, the 4G isn't much use (I have a 4G capable phone) if the data is only 500mb....

If the above is correct, then I'd double my data for sure - and go 4G - that would stop me from leaving Vodafone mos def(initely) :)

Having said that,

I bet you a buck that the 31st Jan cut off for the Skinny/2degrees plans doesn't actually end then.. just like Smart19 was supposed to end Jan 2013 if I recall correctly...

How does double data or whatever relate to the topup? If I top up $50 and buy 2 of these packs does it only double one of them or what?

You would have $19 deducted from your prepay balance, and your 500mb allocation would just be 1gb instead. Like I said earlier I think this only applies to the specific sim cards that come bundled with those phones, and only on the $25 plan, not the $19.

Can anyone from Vodafone confirm?

Hmmm, well I'm on the $19 plan, I topped up $20 yesterday, no option anywhere to choose minutes or data, so I'm guessing it might just be for new customers? Seems like Vodafone are the only ones not offering anything for exsisting prepay customers, except 4G, which I suspect only a small % would be able to utilise.

Its too complicated.

Also a person at work was almost out of data, so got a text offering 150 meg for $4 and answered yes - it never showed in the app which now as we tried unsuccessfully to log in has resulted in their account being locked out and the app losing its credentials. Fffffff.. Too damn hard.

Account locked due to them using the wrong PIN / Password and they did reply ' Yes ' and got allocated the data and also they were sent back a SMS advising the Data bundle was added

All sorted now thanks john. I have given them abuse for forgetting the password again.

Its the app not updating to show the added data that was confusing her since she watches that iphone app like a hawk to try to make it last thru the month.

Topped up $20 today, and got a text that an extra 500MB added - shows up as a bonus add on.

Looks like it starts using the bonus data before anything else.
