Interesting that you have to call them!

I wonder whether they would call you if you actually attempted to terminate and move? Sometimes companies are good at this and sometimes not - I recently changed electricity providers from Genesis to Meridian after 4 years as a Genesis customer. Their response? A photocopied letter addressed to "Dear Customer" asking me if I would like to stay with them.

Even if I had any shred of loyalty that might have been leveraged, that shoddy response was enough to kill it off!

True - not great that I had to call them, but I figured that if I was going to get anything out of them, I'd have to be pro-active about it and help them to join the dots.

I see your point - but then an international company like that should not need help with something so simple, should they? If they get it right in one country they ought to apply the same standards to all of their operations worldwide.

gmball: I gave up waiting several days ago, have bought a Nokia N95 for $795, has many of the same functions as Iphone. So I guess Im just another one of the potential lost Iphone customers (supposedly several thousand out their) who will not be buying an iphone from Vodafone. I may reconsider if Telecom release the iphone on their new network....

Where did you find one that cheap?! They are an eye-watering $1400 on the VF NZ website! (but free from the same company if you are an Australian)

Dick Smith Electronics are selling them below cost due to excess stock and the impending N96 launch. ($795). Geektastic, I assume he's talking about the regular N95, not the 8GB version which still retails for $1399.

Yes, many places are selling the original n95 for $795 including the Warehouse and Dick Smith.

Of course, you can always pick the n95 for cheaper from online stores such as PCWise or Expert Infotech etc.

Ah - yes, of course. Silly me - there's some difference between 150Mb of memory and 8 GB, although perhaps not $600 worth of difference!

Mind you, VF charge $999 for the standard.

Hmm, a resounding silence.  Is everyone stunned or has there been a stampede down to the nearest shop? Wink

I for one am impressed with the new plans and am currently working out how I can pay the upfront (wonder if HP is available).  Much better effort Vodafone!

If Paul's around... will there be increased stock at the shops to handle any expected rise in sales ?

One of these things is not like the other one.
Guess it wouldn't pay to buy a white 16 gig online or maybe need to buy instore quickly since we now know how quickly these plans can change.

The new plans are a step in the right direction but the data allowance is way too low, should be 1GB on the lowest plan and go upwards from there.

I don't think these plans will tempt anyone who is waiting to see what Telecom will offer.

It will be interesting to see what happens when and if Telecom do sell the iphone. If VF responds with much lowered pricing/plans (assuming Telecom is cheaper) then it will be clear that the current rates they are charging for the iphone/plans are overpriced due to their current monopoly.
