Is there any convenient self-service way (online preferably) to change my data plan, or do I need to call 678? This is for on-account, by the way.

Just go into the shop, it's easy.

I don't always have the time to go into a shop, I work long hours most days. I was looking for something where I could do it myself. Thanks anyway.

You could try phoning them on 777 and asking them to do it? Best time to call is usually between 10am --> 12pm I have found.

Thanks, but you're missing the point. I want to be able to login online and make the change in My Vodafone. I already know I can do it by calling 678/777 etc, and thanks for the suggestions, but I'm looking for a self-service option where I don't have to call someone or go into a shop. While those might be the best and easiest options for you, I'm not always near a shop, and I don't always have time to hang around waiting on the phone. I do however always have an internet connection handy - that would be very convenient to make any plan changes like this.

What if I need to upgrade my data allowance at 10:45 at night? No one's going to answer the phone then, and I doubt any shops would be open at that time. It would be great, however, to get online and make such a change.

If there's no way to do it online at the present time, then I guess that's that. But I thought John might know or be aware of something happening shortly to allow customers to do this.

I don't think there are some other ways.

Btw, I do work in the shop so I just make the changes myself lol.

I know, you said so on the last page :)
If that's the case (can't make changes yourself), that's a shame - self service is really good, IMO.

Remarkables Shopping Centre (Frankton, beside Queenstown airport) just went live.

I know its a 2100MHz site, but this seems like the forum for this sort of announcement!!

Hey John (or any VF coverage person) is there supposed to be 3G coverage at the ferry terminal at Matiatia on Waiheke Island? This afternoon all I could get was GPRS.

Also...is there supposed to be continuous 3G coverage across the Hauraki Gulf, when coming in on the ferry from Waiheke to Auckland? I found it very flakey and unreliable, yet my cellphone had a full GSM signal for most of the journey.

Take a look at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/coverage/

Coverage also depends how many people are connected to that cell site, think of it like a bubble (More users, bubble shrinks) - From the looks of things it looks pretty much full 3G Extended (900MHz 3G if your phone / device supports it) and also 3G 2100MHz. But i'm no expert on Auckland.

Looking at the coverage tool, at Matiatia 3G is very poor but strong GSM.
Also GSM is strong but 3G is very patchy on the water a lot shading from the surrounding islands.

So you don't recommend talking on the Vodafone XP3 Underwater? I have always wanted to try that :/
