Has anyone experienced recorded programmes being deleted / removed from the planner before you have had a chance to watch them? i have had a few movies now deleted before i could watch them...

LifeSteala: There's also a setting that deletes video immediately to create space or to prompt you. Can't exactly remember where in the settings but its there.
I think LifeSteala was referring to the settings you can choose in the options using the Menu on the remote. Press Menu, then go to Settings>My Settings>Recording Management>Disc Space Management, and there you have 3 Choices: Automatic, Ignore, and Warning. The meaning of these 3 choices is a bit long-winded, but is in the User Guide. I believe the default setting is Automatic.

I've never heard of this occurring on the TBOX, unless as a result of space-shortage in combination with the auto-delete option. Perhaps someone else in the household is deleting these recordings? TelstraClear, does the TBOX remove recordings from the planner if it comes across a hard-drive bad-sector or other fatal disk error ? Can a technician perform a disk check on a TBOX drive to eliminate this possibility?

That's the one wekanz. Sorry I couldn't remember where I saw it and forgot to post later after I dug it out from the menus.
Just had a recording failure that I've never seen before: "Recording failed due to epg event no longer existing" So along with my car keys, mobile and cash mysteriously vanishing from where I thought I'd left them, I can add epg events to my unexplained temporal dislocated items list.
Haha, funny wording, Garfield! I've never had that happen, but think your summation of the situation might be accurate. One of life's little mysteries, perhaps. Sounds like programming being re-scheduled, to me??

I can happily report that the T-Box cannot detect bad sectors, it will try to record over them resulting in very corrupt recordings. As far as the techs are concerned the T-Box is a black box they simply swap it out. And yes I have had corrupted recordings due I presume to a hard drive failure and the tech simply swapped the box out. The downside is you lose all your stored recordings which can't be transferred to the new machine.
Something odd seems to have happened to my recording buffer: Twenty Twelve had my usual 10 min buffer at the start, but 0 buffer at the end. This had better be a one-off!
I just got a TBox installed with Freeview yesterday. So far no major issues. A couple of stutters but only very small and seem to be isolated incidents. ChoiceTV lost sound briefly last night but this has happened on DVB-T Choice TV for us to, so I think that may have been a problem with the channel itself rather than the box.
Not big TV watchers so may not have the same problems as others have had in terms of recording. Although Im recording one show tonight and Ill see how that goes.
I must say if I was TelstraClear Id certainly be trying to get compensation from the box manufaturer for shipping a product with so many faults!
One thing Ive noticed... is that on the SD channels, sometimes fast movements can seem quite artifacted, like bad compression (blocky).
Edit: Also wanted to mention that I was able to avoid having the second cable modem cluttering up my lounge by getting it installed in our server closet next to our other one and patched through our patch panel, but totally agree that having to have an external modem is rubbish. It should just be able to plug into an existing LAN.
