This might have been discussed before, but at 83 pages, that's lot of comments to get though...

Is it a known fault (assuming it not a configuration setting one can change, that I haven't found) that if you start a playback of a program that is live streaming, that if that program ends at its allocated time, that the Vodafone TV box will stop the play back and ask you to restart the play back, e.g. I arrive home at 6:30pm, decide to watch the news on TV1, so tell the Vodafone TV to play from start from 6pm, at 7pm when the live stream of the news finishes, the playback I started, stops, and displays a message asking me to restart the playback, which if I want to keep watching, I need to, at this point if continues the delayed playback until the end of the program.

Its a small thing, but flippin ignoring.

I hadn't used my gen 1 box in past couple of days, it just stays turned on set on whatever channel. When I went to watch something the other day I found that the box was locked onto one channel and not responding to the remote.

The channel was playing fine, just nothing could be done via remote. I pulled the the ethernet cable, it ran for about another 10 seconds. Then stopped. I plugged the cable back in and it resumed..but still non responsive to the remote.

A power off reboot fixed it.

I hope this is  known issue..that is being loked at?

I have had to replace the batteries 2 times in the last 6 months due to the remote not responding... battery draining or something else?

Has done it again, appears that if left over 24 hours on the same channel then it stops responding to the remote. Light on the front of the unit does blink though.

So not a battery issue.

as a followup , i pressed nearly every button on the remote trying to get the stb to respond. About 2 hours later (i left it running on tv3) up came the channel list  on its own as if someone pressed the back button. its stuck on that now but tv3 still playing fine

Just bought a Gen 2 one of these yesterday and set it up.  Its not bad but a lack of Plex or adding other apps seems to be a bit of a shortcoming.

Also, seemed to have Sky Basic and Soho available on it.  Is there an automatic trial of those or something?

Yep its currently lacking stuff; would be probably the best integrated if it had a few other apps... I've asked for a roadmap on the forums but as its an international approach to some content VodaNZ are unable to say much.

For the Sky stuff, they've got a tie in with Sky NZ to have sky via the box for a sub...Not sure if there is a free trial but it makes it easier to have one box.

I'm hoping they add plex, disney+, SSN and spark sport as then I could part with my Android TV stuff.

They had free SKY for users until last week, as an end-of-year promotion.

Hi @Apsattv

This should be resolved with the planned Gen1 software update/rollout in Feb.

The trial appears to have ended already. No longer working on our two units.

I notice there is a section for On Demand Rentals coming soon on the Vodafone TV Gen2 Box. Will this include Sky Box Office Sport, and will live Sky Box Office Sport ever be available?
