It does drop down to $99 as well.

I bought it for that in December and am very happy with it.

@Gilco2 Go back to them with your receipt and ask them (nicely 😄) to refund  (arguably + 10% if you show them the NL advertised price) the difference:

Warehouse Price Promise

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

"Claim must be lodged within 7 days of purchase."

Better be quick. But I guess has to be advertised for the same day of purchase, not after.

Also "Technology product will be price matched only - mobile phones, printers, TVs, Apple products, computers, tablets, e-readers, gaming machines." so not getting paid any difference.

I asked them but they refused to do anything.  They said they dont know when things will go on sale either.  edit to say it was worth a try anyway

Pardon if I have missed this elsewhere in the forum

1. The advertising says "Free cloud features including 3 day rewind and 500 Hours recording"

for the 500 hours - how long will it retain recorded programs?

I week, 1 year, etc or indefinitely ?

2. I assume you can record any channel?

No worries, I'm happy to repeat given how long this thread is now!

1. the cloud recordings are retained for at least 60 days.

2. recordings are only available if the channel / programme supplier allows cloud recording with 90% of programmes are being recordable (measured by taking the number of all programmes that are recordable divided by the total number of all programmes).  Recordable programmes are indicated by a "R" logo on the VTV programme guide with some channels allow recording of almost everything (eg Sky Channels, VICE), others not so much (Bravo).

Answers
1. I was told up to 90 days.
2. Yes you can record any channel but only the 90% of programs with cloud recording rights provided which you can determine if they have from the TV Guide.

I'd like to invite any VTV users (Gen1 or Gen2) to try out a visual fast forward/rewind feature that has been asked for by many users.  If you'd like to try it out (it's pretty good), please send me a private message with the set top box serial numbers you'd like this feature to be enabled on.

Note that this doesn't require a software update: the latest update on Gen1 and Gen2 has the required player features, we just need to enable it on your box.

Our ask in return is that you participate in feedback on the feature using a private Geekzone forum we have set up so that we don't confuse Geekzone members who don't have the feature.  We believe it's ready to launch to all users, but want to test it with a larger group and get your feedback on a few things before we do.

A lot of the stuff I want to record can't be recorded. But if you record things like the news, then it is okay. My only concern is how long the device will be supported for, before it is iglooed/tivoed . I have got one to try out at the moment, and have found it to be quite a good device. Far better than the smart vu and even easier to setup, and the TV part of it is reliable so far. It all just worked out of the box without any hiccups.  But I have it hardwared via ethernet through the home network to the  internet, which appears to be recommended, so not sure how it performs over wifi.

The other thing to remember, while you can record things like the news, you don't need to remember to do this given it's available on the 3 day rewind (catch up).  Also, if a programme can't be recorded, it can often be viewed on the 3 day rewind/catch up feature.. all indicated by the icons against the programme in the guide.

If there were one thing we'd like to change, it is the complexity of media copyright which can be based on geography, time, broadcast vs on demand vs downloadable, Personal vs commercial, etc.

I hadn't picked up that feature yet, looks like you have to go back through the EPG to find programs that have the symbol on them. That is a very good feature to have. There are quite a few features you don't pick up until you start using it. If it had chromecast functionality it could be the perfect device for many. It does have some chromecast functionality, as the youtube app on a mobile device can 'cast' to the  youtube app on the VTV

The catchup is the top function used here as we never watch live TV. Recording is a second.
