I have lost count of the number of clients I have who have dumped TCL due to these delays and taken up MySky subs, all I have spoken too have been elated with the results and most had the unexpected quadrupling of internet speeds as they have returned to DSL.

This is indeed highly, highly frustrating. I'm trying to avoid sticking a satellite dish on the front of our townhouse, but rapidly losing patience. The real deal-breaker for me is the ability to watch the World Cup in HD. I'll give TCL up to a month before kick-off, then I'm gone.

78 days until the world cup. I'll switch to MySky HDi if the PVR isn't ready.

Said as much to the guys in the shop the other week there - I'm willing to give them until mid may, but I want my World Cup in HD, no TCL HD PVR by then, hello mySky.  "Your choice mate" was the response!

I honestly don't think I've ever heard of a product that's had such delays in launch and so many broken publicly announced launch dates

Remember people - this was originally spruiked to be launched in Feb 09!

TCL if you are listening - I hope to high heaven that you have some pretty hard deadlines with your suppliers and engineers that if you cant get it launched this month - that it is out in time to do installations before the WC - or you will have a very upset (and deserting!) customer base.

I can't believe that my wife and I have started to talk about moving house so we don't have to use telstra for TV any more.

Why would you need to move house? If you don't like TelstraClear there is nothing stopping you moving to Sky!

I wsh it were that easy.  Body Corp rules on sat dishes and wiring put paid to that idea.  Like many townhouse and apartment complexes in Wellyland, we're hostage customers of TCL.

Me too bloody body corp. Although you can just put it up and then let them take legal action and drag it on bla bla. It would take them some time before you actually have to remove it :)

Yep, everytime I pass AJ's I think there is another another aparment set trapped in TCL hell. Its criminal in my view and not that uncommon, I am surprised the various watch dogs have not picked up on these estates, there are many and TCL the culprit.

But if I remember correctly AJ in your situation all your POTs (and DSL if you wish) has to come from TNZ as TCL has no twisted pair supply to the development, only coax Embarassed

you think thats bad...

We can only get telecom landlines, but not TV due to bodycorp not allowing dishes. So I have TCL TV and internet but have a 2talk account for phone because TCL didnt run phone lines... so most people in the complex are forking our for TCL and Telecom!

But I blame the orginal people who setup the apartments for that oversight.

So, there are no lines to individual appartments within a multi storey complex or is this a large layout complex (not multistory), that was built with no phone lines, PM me the complex if you could.

Cheers
