downhill: OK - so Im about to pull the trigger on the Vodafone $65 for 60GB deal and ditch fusion purely due to cost. The monthly numbers stack up as follows
60GB = $65 so long as you or your employer pays for an on account mobile (tick)
VFX line = $11.25
Supercap $19.95

Total is under $100 per month, my current fusion bills are between $140 and $150 for less than 20GB of peak and about 20Gb of off peak (torrent plan)

Before flicking the switch, does anyone have any other recommendations or have I missed something?... (or WxC - will your new rates result in a similar saving for me?) Im quite happy with the VFX service, but costs for data on WxC are not moving downward with the times & other ISPs. I want to watch youtube and download software updates, movie trailers and AppleTV movies anytime of the day, not just during off peak!

I am in exactly the same boat, on VFX naked dsl. It is a decent price but the on peak data is a rort and I am getting tired of waiting a day to download stuff.

Slingshot (in the sub forum on here) say they are releasing new naked dsl plans tomorrow. I look forward to seeing what they are cause I am 90% sure I will change.

Yuyp also thinking exactly the same.
Data costs for WxC are now not attractive ... sure the "manage your data cap" is cool ... but Id rather $$$'s in my back pocket.

I remember Slingshot & iHug before them offering unlimited data way back when broadband was just starting to get going. It didn't last, of course.

Call me skeptical, but I've seen these sort of "suck 'em in" type offers before. Furthermore, as the migratory birds flock to the latest shiny plans on offer the infrastructure of said ISP suffers and end users suffer as a result.

Of course in the last decade or so things may have changed or improved?

Valid point Sultan those things happen and have happened in the past. I've just asked these questions on that thread

Does reserving a place guarantee it??? Is this a binding commtiment to join once they're officially up and running with this plan???

What sort of throttling will we see with this and what for as in will torrents be throttled (please bear in mind torrenting is not illegal it's just a popular format often used for illegal purposes of which I do not condone at all) and or FTP transfers???

Why such a short cut off as in early december???

You mentioned possible incentives (or the like) for existing Naked customers what are they and are they for SS Naked customers or those transferring as well???

Will your naked plan include your voip service or is that a added extra (if so how much)???

And pointed out what the WXC faithful have been saying here all along WXC is good in practically all aspects except for now the other providers especially SS are making a play for serious data users. I would like to stay with a company I trust and know provide great everything but simply can't wait forever for these new plans. Sure before Xmas is a good hint but lets be realistic before Xmas could be a few days or a week too late for those who may want to jump ship or be considering it. I would be a little pissed if said plans were not that great for NDSL customers and I missed out on what is a good offering from SS as a result.

How much longer do we have to wait as if the answer to the first two questions I've asked over there about it be a binding condition to join I being a no then I will reserve my spot and if nothing from WXC before the 1st week of December then I'll have a new ISP for Xmas and sure my $125 0 $200 per month may be small fry in the grand old scheme of things but I can be pretty sure I am not the only customer they would have lost due to making everyone wait.

Surely we can see the plans, sign up for them and then have a short wait before they start as that way we know what we're waiting for and if we like it WXC will get to keep customers. I would gladly commit to hanging around a month or two for something worth while but if they turn out to be rubbish and we miss out on other ISP's good offerings then you'd be more likely to lose a lot more customers.

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. I wait already 3 months and they promised that I will wait another few months for new fibre plans and it’s no guarantee. It's cool to be a monopoly.
