Ivan,

     >It was on a delay from live viewing due to pauses earlier.<

I'm sure you are trying to be helpful, but I do not understand at all.

You seem to be saying that you went to watch the announcement, but then put the device on pause, and then when attempting to watch it later there were hiccups?  Or you tried to watch by using some other means?

We were watching prior to the announcement and had accumulated a delay of approximately 30 minutes prior to watching it over various uses of pause and play.

Well I get what he means. Pause for 5 mins here, 10 mins there, another 5 etc. Soon means you are running 30 mins behind the live action.

I'm interested to know when this contact is likely to happen, otherwise will be cancelling Sky Sport for at least a while.

Hi @chchmike

Hopefully tomorrow.  Wednesday if not.

Great, thanks Hamish.

invisibleman18: Sky TV have emailed Sky Sport customers with some of offers such as free movies or entertainment packages while there is no live sport. Is there any word or whether these will extend to those who get Sky Sport through Vodafone TV?

We will be getting in contact with all Sport customers early next week.

Just got an email offering 3 months of free Neon.

Yes, not as useful as free Sky Movies in my view, I'll be cancelling Sky Sport for a while.

I note from the below, On Vodafone TV channel 29 is just showing a static ThreeLife logo. Is EdgeTV going to replace it there?

Will Breeze TV also be added when it starts.

Sky are giving all on the starter pack SKY NEWS channel free for the next 3 months. Will Vodafone also be doing this? or unlocking the channel to all users?

1. The Edge TV has now replaced ThreeLife on Freeview Channel 11 this is broadcasting in HD on UHF and SD on Satellite. The SmartVU streaming  remains unaffected
2. ThreeLife +1 has been replaced by the Breeze TV which is due to launch in April. Currently this has the Radio stream.

The Edge TV is on Channel 118 (same as Sky)

Long thread!

My mother-in-law recently got a Gen 2 box which she is now using at home in place of her old T-box (i.e. her broadband is still supplied by VF on HFC cable).

She seems to have a lot of problems with the TV not going, either showing program guide information, or showing Not connected to Internet, or showing CHannel not subscribed (including channels for which she definitely is).

Any suggestions, or at least suggested troubleshooting steps. I think this now qualifies as an 'essential service'!

Make sure the VTV is completely updated to the latest version, then restart it.

OK, thanks, will do.

Just wondering about the setup too. She has an old Linksys WRT-54G router for wireless access for her laptop. That's of course connected to the VF-supplied HFC modem, and the cabled to the VF Gen 2 box. Only 100mMbps but should be ok for all practical purposes including connection?

Yes, that will be enough for streaming.

Are you sure she has connected it to the same Email address on which she registered for VTV ie on tv.vodafone.co.nz and that she has subscribed in that site for the channels in question?

Also have you made sure she has restarted it by pulling the power plug out of it and then putting it back in?
